Read Aloud with Comprehension & Tier 2 Word


Very slow at reading because he is trying to understand what he is reading.
Read: Glasses, Glasses, Everywhere

Writing

The teacher will use index cards and have the high frequency
words on them for him to make sentences. Will help the student understand that words can be put into context.

Have the student make his own sentences using the high frequency words.
(He was able to understand that he can make his own sentences and
understand them)
Student Reads
Have the student read “Glasses, Glasses, Everywhere” by
himsself and then go back into the story to search for high The student was able to find high frequency words, (I told him what to look
frequency words.. for) after he found the word, he would say the word and the sentence over
again.

Word Study
Jump, Where, Said, Will help the student learn that he can understand words in isolation and put
Play, Three, Down into sentences.
For, Here. Come Tell the student to start with the high frequency word and then go to the next
Make, Funny word they added and so on. Then at the end say the sentence altogether at the
end.

Repeated Reading
Played a halloween sight word game at the end.
