Berthing or under berthing operation-The master should take consideration in the

aspect of wind and current tide and presence of other vessel that might affect for the safe and
successful manuevering of the ship. The master should be flexible to response and think
alternate plan in mind, in anticipation of any change in the cumstances as the manuever
proceed for berthing 3 miles prior for arrival as the duty cadet in the bridge will announce for
standby for their own station of the ship especially for the deck department. The master should
make sure that the ship is pointing in the berthing area when the ship is close enough for
berthing the aft ramp is also lowered and the mooring lines are passed to the port lines, and
put in the ports bollard and used to bring the ship closer to the port and public address is used
in berthing the aft ramp is lifted mooring lines are secured the master will command for
undocking manuever, anchor is up and finally secured.

Cargo loading operation-Cargo operation is headed by chief officer, bosun and ordinary
seaman and await for the chief of officer command, the chief officer will be the one to decide
or choose what cargoes to be loaded last. At the same time chief officer monitors the listing in
the clinometer in a way that he will ask the assigned apprentice or duty on the bridge. If the
cargoes are placed safe and appropriate the bosun and ordinary seaman will secured all
cargoes by putting lashing on it, chief officer will take consideration on stability if the vessel is in
upright position.
