Type of Project:

1) Implementation Project (New Project):


Where the SAP Need to implemented in Non-SAP organization. Implementing newly SAP in the
organization.

OR
Any company if they are going first time SAP and the project starts from the scratch (Beginning)
and followed by ASAP Methodology five phases and delivers the project to the clients is called
an implementation Project.

2) Rollout Project:

From the existing SAP Implemented location to another location if you extend the SAP with
some localization changes is called a rollout Project.
OR
Means already in one location SAP is implemented from there you’re going to extend the
software to another location that is called Rollout Project.

3) Upgrade Project :

Moving from a lower version of SAP (SAP ECC5.0) to higher version of SAP (ECC 6.0) is called
upgrade project.

4) Support Project:

When the end users are using the Production System (Real system), they may come across
with some sort of errors or issues, then support the functional team will help the end users to
resolve the issues.

ASAP Methodology:

Which will give you a step by step instructions to implement SAP.

 This ASAP methodology also can be called as “SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle)”
or END to END process or Full life cycle implementation.

To implement the project there are many methodologies to success the project. In SAP
Recommended methodology is ASAP (Accelerated SAP) Methodology ASAP Methodology it
provides the road map of the project that Mans.

Which what activities when to start & when to complete & which what activity need to be
progress parley to success the project.

1) Project Preparation

Project plan, scope (stream or module), infrastructure (servers, laptops, software’s),


Resources (How many SAP Consultant.

2) Business Blue Print

 BBP means whatever the Gathered the information they need to prepare
Documentation for reference purpose that document nothing is BBP Document
The BBP which will consist of how they are going to convert a Client requirement into SAP
System that is will be maintain (Documents all the requirements like org.structure, Master
data, business process, RICEFW (reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancement, forms and
workflows how they covert into the SAP System).
Once BBP document is approved then real time work will start means Configuration carried
out in SAP System.

AS-IS:

ASIS Preparation, i.e. current status preparation (CSBP) will be prepared by core
team members. Understand the business process from the team. Based on the core user input
ASIS Document has to create according to module wise .

As-IS is nothing but Client’s (Their) Current Business Process. Difficulties in the
existing System, AS-IS Process is doc. Is consists of Current business process,
Drawbacks in their Current system & Exceptions from the SAP System.
TO-BE:

To-Be Preparation, i.e. Future Status Business preparation (FSBP) will be prepared by
consultants based on ASIS & Discussions. In this process consultant will map the business
process in SAP Based on AS-IS.

FSBP or in TB Be Process we are going to explain about the process addressed in SAP
Against each ASIS Process. Based on the ASIS Process we are explaining the future
Business process in SAP.
Note: Module wise TO-BE Document has to be created.
Gaps (The Difference between ASIS & TO BE Process):
The ASIS Process is not possible to address in the future process or SAP that is called GAPS.
These GAPS can be addressed either through work around solution need to perform 2 or 3
Transactions & will get the indirectly solutions.

Change the current business process (or) Developments.

Overview GAP:
Finding the gap between “As-Is and To-Be” processes, which is nothing but Gap Analysis.
The requirement of the client which is not possible in the standard sap is called as gap
analysis.

Gap Means What Not Possible In Standard Sap So We Have to Customize As Per The
Business Requirement.

Example: In Standard Sap The plant Not Determined Automatically in the direct finance
posting, But Clint Want in Direct finance posting,

Overview of BBP
 The job of the core team members will share process document (process doc means what is
existing business process and along with the flow chart they will share all those document to the
SAP Consultant,
 And going through the document if they have any quarries and any concerns about the process
they will discuss , they will have many meeting with the core team members ,

 And they will prepare one document is called BBP, BBP means what is existing process in Legacy
system (Non-SAP System) how it is going to be mapping in SAP , How FI Consultant IS mapping ,
CO Consultant IS mapping, MM Consultant IS mapping, SD Consultant IS mapping for each
module will have separate BBP Document.
 Finally these document will share to CTM, so if the core CTM are satisfied they will sign of
document.
 Then consultant will start their job, again during this process they may be the GAP there may
be the processing in NON SAP system that we can’t able to mapping in to the SAP these are
called GAP, GAP will be Further analysis to find the solution.

OR
 While doing business blue printing, SAP Consultant goes to the client and understands their
business model, how are they working and what they have been doing, how are they working, is
called AS – IS.

 TO BE is a plan SAP consultant will present them which will enable them to improve their
service, operations and controlling while keeping the costs to their minimum.
(Post Implementation)

 AS IS study is the one of the most Important & begins of the SAP Implementation project.

 The Consultant has to go to the client place and has to gather all the details provided by the
client.

 There after only consultant can prepare Business Blue Print which will come under second head
of the ASAP ie To BE process.

 AS IS study help the project in such a way that ex – how many modules that are used from SAP,
how many teams required for project, schedule date for go live & project etc. so it’s at most
important.

3) Realization

Once BBP document is Approved then real time work will start means Configuration carried
out in SAP System,
IN SAP Server they will do the configuration Means Functional Consultant will do the
configuration as per client requirement and Technical consultant will developed the RICEFW
Objects (Program) As per FSD (as per the Functional consultant requirement).
Once Configuration & Development is done, Functional consultant will do Unit testing

4) Final preparation.

Testing (User training, integration testing, UAT) & UAT, Data Migration will be done.
