Travel: A Facebook Group 

Ever since the pandemic started people have been unsure of when they will be able to

travel once again. When COVID-19 also known as Coronavirus hit America the government

demanded for all countries to go under quarantine. This made it difficult for American citizens to

get out of their homes, make simple errands, have a social life, and travel. A Facebook Travel

Group contains incredible photos and videos of travelers from all over the world. This group has

seen the world from a different perspective and wants others to see it as well. The Travel Group

uses Facebook to show places people have not seen before, to provide adventure from their

homes and to motivate people to travel. 

People have always wanted to travel, and the Travel Group gives images and videos of

exciting destinations people have never seen. For example, a lovely sanctuary in Tanzania's

Serengeti National Park is illustrated in a post from the Travel Group. A beautiful sunset with

warm hues, a tree in the center of the landscape, and a resting lion in the center of a tall grass

walk are shown in this post. “Nature is the source of unique beauty” (“Travel!)”) mentions the

admin of the group, implying that it shows more than just the sun, tall grass, a tree, and a

lion. The overall comments of this post were positive. “What a beautiful picture, really a work of

art...”, “Beautiful to see such things prosper” (“Travel!)”) and “So soothing for the eyes”

(“Travel!)”) mention the members of this group. This post emanates a lot of warmth, comfort,

and all the positive emotions members of this community might want. Individuals who have

been quarantined for the past year and a half have not seen the outside world and such beautiful

sceneries the Travel Group provides. 

People have not travelled in a long time, and they have been craving adventure for the

past year and a half all they want is to bring adventure to their homes. For instance, a gorgeous

picture of the ocean view at Fregate island in Seychelles is shown in a post from the Travel

Group. A vibrant ocean scene with brilliant blue, aqua, and turquoise colors, with bright green

palm trees encircling the bay, a large clear water pool with a woman in it looking at the ocean

view. “There is always a moment for happiness in life, a reason for a smile and a time for a

dream” (“Travel!)”) mentions the admin, meaning no matter where people are right now,

whether if their quarantined or out in the world, they will always have time to travel and do

what they want. The comments of this post were positive. “Very beautiful" (“Travel!)”) and

“incredible place” (“Travel!)”) mention the members of this group. Social media has helped

bring adventure to people's homes and so has technology to scholars. Jeni Henrickson mentions

that technology has “allowed learners to virtually journey along with explorers and adventurers

to the far-reaches of the world” (Henrickson et al.). In other words, technology and social

media has offered an alternative adventure to students and individuals who otherwise would not

be able to travel or afford to do so. The Travel Group has been providing its members

with exciting photos and videos of unseen places. 

The Travel Group not only posts pictures and videos of places people have not been to or

adventures they have had, but it also motivates people to travel. Every person in this world

requires motivation to move forward, work, speak, to be exceptional, and many people require

motivation to travel. To see the unseen, to taste new flavors of food, to see new cultures and

traditions, and overall to relax from the real world. Every post that the Travel Group makes is a

source of inspiration for its members. It demonstrates a feeling of beauty that we, as humans,

desire to see in real life rather than on our phones. For instance, a lovely video of a beautiful

waterfall in La Huasteca Potosina, Mexico is shown in a post from the Travel Group. A clear

water lake leading to an amazing and immense waterfall, a woman in a red swim wear walking

towards the immense waterfall exposing the deep and massive cave. The overall comments of

this post were positive. “Beautiful view makes people comfortable” (“Travel!)”) mentions a

member meaning that this post offers motivation to travel just to see this amazing waterfall.

It may not be the best time to travel right now, but it will help prepare for the next step once the

outbreak is over. Members who have seen these posts wish to visit the beautiful locations and

enjoy the warmth or cold places Mother Nature provides. They are interested in seeing the sky's

vivid or dark colors. They wish to take part in the entire trip offered by the travel group. So, in

order to see what the world has to offer, one must be motivated in order to travel to see the world

from their own perspectives.

In conclusion, many people's lives have been changed by the Travel Group, which has

introduced its members to new locations, brought adventure into their homes and has inspired

them to travel. The travel Group is a Facebook group which mainly focuses on travel. The

members of this group are mainly travelers who have traveled around the world. They post

pictures and videos of beautiful places one might have never seen. They created this group to

provide adventure, relaxation, and motivation one might need. Traveling is one of the things

individuals desire to do, but cannot accomplish due to certain circumstances. So, grab your

phone and prepare to embark on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
