Abstract

This pandemic has brought a dilemma to educational institutions especially when the government

announced and order not to open face-to-face classes for Academic Year 2020-2021 until the Covid-19

vaccine. In response to this order, the Department of Education releases different department orders

instructing all basic education institutions to come up with their learning continuity plan that will give

support to students to cope up with the new way of education and give support services to cater to their

educational needs.

This study aims to determine the support services Joaquin G. Hernandez Elementary School

provided to their students with additional needs at the intermediate level in this pandemic time.

Respondents of this study was asked to answer the questionnaire. The questionnaire was composed of

only one (1) part with its four indicators namely: consulting services, instructional learning support,

interpreter services, and health services.

Based on the gathered data, the following results were derived. Consulting services 4.2,

instructional learning support 4, interpreter services 3.9, and health services 4.5. This shows that the

support services for intermediate pupils with additional needs almost agreed in terms of consulting

services while the other services almost agree. As per the ordinal position in the instructional learning

support, the grade IV and VI pupils revealed seldom disagree in areas of the teacher uses audio records

for discussion (1.9).

From the gathered data, the researcher concluded that students from Grade IV and grade VI with

additional needs were having problems with the teacher's use of audio records for discussion. Therefore,

recommendations were given to the beneficiaries of the study.
