Compensation Does Not Necessarily Align with Job

Satisfaction
The article titled; Compensation Does Not Necessarily Align with Job Satisfaction by Rita
Peters talks about the employment survey conducted in the bio/pharma industry in the year
2020 during covid-19 pandemic.
The survey was based on various questions like “how secure do you feel on your job as
compared to last year”, “does your current salary reflect a change over last year’s salary”
etc. The result of the survey suggested that salary is ranked second to last on a list of 13
factors contributing to job satisfaction in the survey, down from fifth place compared to the
last year. Compensation trailed factors such as challenging projects, intellectual stimulation,
company’s potential for success, supportive management, and a good work/life balance as
the “main reason I come to work.”
The respondents of the survey including researchers, biologists, chemists, process
engineers, formulators, quality control experts, and other professionals were highly
dedicated towards their job, compensation alone was not a motivational factor for working
and they were able to develop covid 19 vaccine within very less time period.
