Introduction :
Involves : Extensive field work/documenting the knowledge based system with regards to the land
use practices among Kuki tribe.
This study helps in understanding the extent to which we can revisit the past and try to understand
the tribal community and how they have sustainably managed their resources.
The farming practices haven’t remained static but developed due to the influence of market
economy and also due to development agendas.
