ACTIVITY 1- SELF ASSESSMENT

Create an incident or a scenario wherein scientific division of criminology is involved.

Explain how said scientific division is applied in determining the facts of the case. (10
points each) Date of submission: Saturday, November 07 , 2020

a. CHEMISTRY

A boy name Billy Ben was found murder. He was initially reported missing
from her home by her parents the day after Christmas in 1996. An initial police
search of his residence turned up few clues, with the exception of ransom letter.
However, the father found Billy Ben body later that day in a area of the
basement. The basement was immediately secured as a crime scene , along
with the rest of the Ben’s home. Moreover, as the investigation was ongoing
through their inspection a bullet was found around the place where the crime
scene occurs. They also found that the floor was have some stain of blood. The
investigator was concluded that Billy Ben was wounded and injuries. To
determined the fact of this case Chemistry can be used, the pattern of blood
droplet on the floor, chemicals in duct tape and the gunshot residue, all of this
are the evidence to help the detectives solve the crime with chemistry, we can
point out the findings of what happened in the scene. Chemical analysis can
reveal how long the person died, and the tape that tied them up was
manufactured. Chemistry is used forensic to cover the information from the
physical evidence. Through this we can now detect the culprit behind this crime.
b. PHYSICS

A long the way in Babatngon area a six-years-old boy was found dead. This
area was known to be a dangerous place, because of the crime scene is mostly
happened there. The police investigation about the victim is not totally, they was
just assumed he was killed himself. But there are close people of the victim that
they said there is no way to killed himself. Through the use of Physics the fact
can be determined of this scene is, It turns out that the best way to understand
the scene is through the physics of how the blood spattered, and concluded the
physics to reduce uncertainly and guessing in blood stain , pattern analysis. The
blood stain have the potential to reveal a lot about a crime the distance of blood
spattered , the direction it flew in , and something about the nature of the crime.
Struggle through the use of physics the crime was not a suicide a suicide, but
rather a homicide, this is because the boy was pushed through the bridge. The
Physics is used to understand the pattern of a blood spattered the construction
of this crime scene is a vital application of physics in forensic science as the
cases of the accidents, suicide or homicide, the body is fall from the height
bridge. Forensic science examine the physical evidence gathered at this crime
scene to help determine the nature of a crime and if there is any evidence
indicating who committed it. Therefore, the evidence found at the scene are
analyse through physics and provide the proofing statement or claims in trails.

c. BIOLOGY

A young woman was found dead, she is missing a week ago. As the investigation
of this crime was ongoing they found a knive behind the dead body of a woman.
The investigators concluded that determine the facts of this case. Biology can be
used. The pattern of body fluids, stains. The investigation revealed that the
woman has been murder and rape. Through the use of Forensic Biology they
usually begins their analysis by examining a piece of evidence such as the hair,
fiber and the stains. Any collected evidence are mostly transferred to a Forensic
Microscopist for further analysis, to determine the real cause of the dead body.
Therefore the evidence found is to help and determining the fact and proofing
statement or claims in trails.
