I – Answer the problem below.

1. In a closed traverse the following azimuth were observed with a

compass. Calculate the interior angles. Draw the lines and angles.

Line Azimuth
AB 65⁰
BC 125⁰30’
CD 200⁰
DE 265⁰15’
EA 330⁰

Interior ∠A = 85°

Interior ∠B = 119° 30′

Interior ∠C = 105° 30′

Interior ∠D = 114° 45′

Interior ∠E = 115° 15′

Interior Angle:

Interior ∠A = 150° - 65° = 85°

Interior ∠B = 245° – 125° 30′ = 119° 30′

Interior ∠C = 305° 30′ – 200° = 105° 30′

Interior ∠C = (360° – 265° 15′) + 20° = 114° 45′

Interior ∠E = (360° – 330° ) + 85° 15′ = 115° 15′

2. In an open traverse the following bearings were observed with a

compass. Calculate the interior angles. Draw the lines and angles.

Line Azimuth
AB N 55⁰30’ E
BC S 63⁰30’ E
CD N 70⁰ E
DE S 45⁰30’ E
EF N 72⁰15’ E

Interior Angle:

Interior ∠B = 55° 30′ + 63° 30′ = 119°

Interior ∠C = 63° 30′ + 70° = 133° 30′

Interior ∠D = 70° + 45° 30′ = 115° 30′

Interior ∠E = 45° 30′ + 72° 15′ = 117° 45
