1. Define environmental studies. Discuss the scope and importance of
environmental studies as a subject for the students of architecture.

2. What do you understand by renewable and non-renewable resources? Write


a note on energy resources of the world, describing the needs, sources and
problems.

3. List and types of ecosystems. Explain in detail about the grassland


ecosystem.

4. Write a note on “India as a mega-diversity nation”. What are the major hot-
spots of bio-diversity in our country?

5. Discuss briefly about the causes, effects and control measures for water
pollution.

6. Explain in detail water conservation, rainwater harvesting and watershed


management.

7. Discuss briefly the pattern of world population growth in recent years,


highlighting the issues related and its impact on the environment.

8. Write short notes on any two of the following:


a) Food chains and webs
b) Disaster management for earthquakes
c) Global warming
