Guest Lecture Reflective Note

Mr. Nisarg mention a lot of things during his guest lecture but the thing that caught
my eye and attention was how he talked about the importance of communication and
cooperation between various teams across different part of the world is important. he
highlighted the importance of understanding and respecting cultures and practises of
various countries wherever you go and work and gave examples of festivals that
China celebrates like Chinese New Year, year of the horse, year of the bull etc. In
my opinion this statement is extremely true, and I hope that I would be able to
become a manager who can practise these teachings. understanding different
beliefs and faith that people have respecting them will help us create a diverse
workplace which would help nurture different ideas and help us grow. our diverse
work culture would be extremely beneficial for the company as well for individual
growth as we get different perspectives on multiple ideas. if everyone feels
respected their views and beliefs understood it will increase and encourage
teamwork and help create a healthy and productive work environment.

Mr. Nisarg talked about what you should do before entering the market or expense in
a foreign market. he mentions that first we need to observe the situation before even
deciding whether we must move in or not. According to him the factors that we
should be examining or observing are the political scenario of the country, whether it
is stable or not. how friendly their policies are for trade and business? how
progressive is the society? and would the foreign business give rise to any
unnecessary issues in the country's economy. in my opinion, I agree with this
statement and feel that reading these factors would be beneficial to us and help take
a decision. these factors will tell us what to expect in the future and gives us an idea
about you must plan. But, I feel there are a few other factors that should also be
considered before making a decision of entering the market, such as, would this
society be accepting of the product, in my opinion this is also an important factor and
we can see how important it is.The other factors I think we should study our cultural
differences and how difficult would it be for our employees to adapt to the change in
environment. having all these factors in mind I feel it will be easier us to take the for
decision of expanding in the international business.

Mr. Nisarg also spoke about how their culture differences and more communication
etiquettes one should take care of during a business such as email communication,
video calling, talking over texts. He talks about how we should not assign genders to
pronouns and use gender neutral pronouns to avoid stereotyping. this would help
create a inclusive environment for all the employees regardless of their gender.
about your tickets as skipper permission before muting or UN muting the mic on
calls, asking for permission to new team member on a call or a group. in my opinion
the significant actions that may cause a lot of misunderstandings if not handled
correctly. specially if working in a multinational company but there are people of
different cultures and different beliefs. for example, the US western parts of the word
mean a good job but has a different meaning in China. Hence, I feel in a
multinational environment one should be careful about what he says his actions and
not just words but also his physical gestures. I have a strong opinion and I advocate
vigorously towards an inclusive and diverse work environment which respects all
cultures across the world so that everyone can have a platform to share their
opinions without the fear of being discriminated or judged upon. I agree to the point
the lecturer mentioned who will heartedly and I believe and hope that it would be
practised and developed further in the years.
