Self- Defense is a countermeasure that involves defending the health and
well-being of oneself from harm. Self – Defense techniques and
recommended behavior under the threat of violence is systematically taught in
self – defense classes.

PT Tabsing : While all martial arts training can be argued to have some self-defense
applications, self – defense courses are marketed explicitly as being oriented
towards effectiveness and optimized towards situations as they occur in the
real world.

PT Dimalanas : Self- Defense in Martial arts is often classified according to common traits,
identified as families

PT Tabsing : Sects

PT Ramirez : School of martial arts.

PT Tabsing : Styles that Styles that focus on manipulation are called internal, while others
that concentrate on improving muscle and cardiovascular fitness are called
“external”.

PT Ramirez : (In position)

Martial arts defense tactics are being integrated in the Curriculum of PSBRC
CL 2019 – 01 Alpha – Golf. In this Regional Training Center, trainees were
taught of different Self Defense tactics and techniques as an approach to law
enforcement operation. Trainees were taught to use justified and reasonable
force in implementation of Law Enforcement Operation, thus there is a need
for every law enforcer to learn martial arts and techniques to repel injury or
harm to be inflicted by any law violators. it Is often dealt with the study of
martial arts not just as means of Self – Defense or mental training, but as a
system of ethics.

ALL : And now!! Let us witness a Sparring performance to be performed by Selected

students of PSBRC class 2019 – 01 Alpha – Golf.

TAEKWONDO

The name Taekwondo is derived from the Korean word "Tae" meaning foot,
PT Dimalanas "Kwon" meaning fist and "Do" meaning way of. So, literally Taekwondo
means "the way of the foot and fist". The name Taekwondo, however, has
only been used since 1955 while the arts' roots began 2,300 years ago in
PT Ramirez Korea. Known as a martial art and way of life, the evolution of Taekwondo
was a direct result of the happenings in Korea long ago, and knowledge of
the history is an important step in understanding Taekwondo.

KARATEDO

Brief History and Benefits

PT Dimalanas: “Once a kata has been learned, it must be practiced repeatedly until it can be
applied in an emergency, for knowledge of just the sequence of a form in
Karate is useless.” – Gichin Funakoshi
Karate, the Japanese word for “empty hands,” was born in the Okinawan
Islands as a form of self-defense, at a time when weapons were banned by
invading Japanese forces. It began as te (hand), a fighting style used by the
natives of the Ryukyu Islands, and was later influenced by Chinese kenpō,
introduced through the Chinese families that settled on Okinawa after trade
relationships between China and the islands were established.
The purpose of Karate is to guide you out of trouble by any means necessary,
both in actual combat and in life
The ultimate aim of Karate lies not in victory nor defeat, but in the perfection of
the character of its participants.
PT TABSING HEIAN SHODAN
Heian shodan is a shorin kata containing 21 movements (waza) with 2 kiai
points. It is the first kata you learn when joining Shotokan karate. In
Japanese, heian (平安) means “peaceful mind” and shodan means “first level“.
Being in the shorin category, this kata focuses on being flexible, soft and slow
with quick, sharp movements. In this kata you will learn:
the first punch, 2 stances, 3 blocks, and1 strike
However, as the years go by, you start to take a lot more from this kata, partly
in combination with the other heian kata as well as more “advanced” kata.
Depending on your belt ranking, you will have a different focus when studying
and practicing heian shodan. These are cummulative and not mutually
exclusive.
PT Dimalanas MEIKYO
Meikyo is most often translated as "Bright Mirror" or "Polished Mirror," perhaps
alluding to the beginning of the kata, when the hands are held up in front of
one's face as if looking into a mirror. The kata also contains several duplicate,
or "mirroring techniques," for example: the opposing directions of the two sets
of gedan-barai and oi-zuki; the pair of bo-uke & bo-dori combinations; and the
double ura-zuki, which is an example of two identical techniques performed at
the same time (in essence, mirroring each other). Meikyo is considered to be
a highly advanced kata yet, for the most part, does not involve any effortful
techniques
PT Ramirez EMPI
Enpi ( 燕 飛 ), also frequently transliterated as Empi, is a kata practiced by
Shotokan and other karate styles. Enpi means Flying Swallow.[1]

Enpi comes from the Okinawan martial art of Tomari-te, where it first
appeared in 1683.It is believed to have been influenced by Chinese boxing. It
was originally called Wansu. Funakoshi Gichin changed the name to Enpi
when he moved to the Japanese mainland in the 1920s. Funakoshi changed
the names of many of the kata, in an effort to make the Okinawan art more
palatable to the then nationalistic Japanese. The most commonly accepted
theory about its creation and development is that a Sappushi Wang Ji, an
official from Xiuning, transmitted the kata while serving on Okinawa. Legend
has that Wang Ji had the habit of throwing and jumping on his adversaries.
Because of this dynamic form of combat, this kata resembles a swallow in
flight.

PT Ramirez KANKUDAI
Kanku translates as "Looking at the Sky" or "Viewing the Sky," referring to the
kata's opening sequence. ... Kanku is one of three Shotokan kata that have
two versions, Dai (big) and Sho (small). Originally, the kata was called
Kushanku, named after a Chinese diplomat and kung fu expert.

Ladies and Gentlemen, a round of applause please!

ARNIS/KALI/ESCRIMA

PT Tabsing : The Philippines is an island nation rich in both culture and history. The Filipino
martial arts of Arnis/Kali/Eskrima has contributed to both the history and
diversity of the Philippines. There are an abundance of styles and systems of
Arnis/Kali/Eskrima that are taught throughout the world to this day, that have
survived and developed throughout the different regions, families and
teachers who have preserved what is sometimes called a “complete” martial
arts.

PT Ramirez : 1. Pugay or SALUDO (SALUTATION) – in every martial arts there is a

method of paying respect at the beginning and end of a training
system: in some system you bow, in others you use different types of
hand gestured. In the Filipino Martial arts, the term SALUDO meaning
SALUTE, is the command used for paying respects.

PT Dimalanas : 2. Baston Anyo Isa – is a Filipino term which means one stick form.
While the knife is said to be the backbone of the Filipino Martial arts
(FMA), the solo baston or single stick is the most popular weapon. As a
weapon, the solo baston is treated in varying ways among the many
systems of FMA. In some schools, it is a mere training tool to teach the
movements of the blade. In some FMA styles however, the stick is
taught as a primary weapon.

PT Tabsing : 3. Anyo Synchronized Solo Baston – Perceiving the same foot works
and techniques of the Anyo single Solo baston, the Synchronized Solo
baston is usually executed by two or three performers in the
demonstration of the single stick techniques in a synchronized manner.
It requires focus, timing, precise coordination coupled with speed and
power for the successful execution of the movements and techniques.

PT Ramirez : 4. Baston Anyo Doble (synchronized double sticks) – is undoubtedly

one of the most powerful sub-systems of the Filipino Martial Arts. It
covers an amazing array of combinations that teach the practitioner to
utilize two weapons of equal length such as sticks, swords, etc. Doble
Baston drills are designed to flow seamlessly from striking to blocking
while giving the practitioner the ability to use the weapon in either hand
or both hand at the same time.

PT Dimalanas : 5. Anyo synchronized doble baston (Synchronized double sticks)

– distinguishing the same execution and techniques of the anyo doble
baston, the synchronized doble baston is usually executed by two to
three performers in the demonstration of the doble stick technique in a
synchronized manner. It requires focus, timing, precise coordination
coupled with speed and power for the successful execution of the
movements and techniques.

THE PERFORMERS THEN RENDERS SALUDO OR PUGAY TO PAY

RESPECT AFTER THE PERFRMANCE

PT Tabsing : Self – defense comes in many different forms. To this day, Arnis/Kali/Eskrima
has retained its strong impact to the Filipino Culture. Filipino martial arts and
other forms of martial arts continue to encompass a large range of weapons
training and hand-hand combat, enriching the culture of Filipino society.

the demonstrators.

PT Dimalanas : Civil Disturbance with its connotation of illegal activity sometimes used to
include a broad range of confrontation depending on the intensity of the
situation from peaceful assemblies to violent attacks on people and property
by the demonstrators.

PT Tabsing : This requires agencies, which have control force mission to develop the
means based on the variable nature of threat and provide a high degree of
effectivity and selectivity. The emphasis on the violent aspects has often
resulted in responses, which aggravate rather than to reduce the problem.

PT Ramirez : One platoon of batch SIMBAGSIK CDM Contingents will perform the different
Civil Disturbance Management Formation headed by PT Francis Dave

PT Tabsing : At this point in time, hold your breath ladies and gentlemen as we witness a
precise and heart stopping demonstration of the Internal Security Operation
Skills of the PSBRC 2019 – 09 Alpha to Golf.

PT Ramirez : The batch will demonstrate a simultaneous presentation of the Immediate

Action Drill which will then be followed by the Close Quarter Battle through the
Selected Police trainees of Batch SIMBAGSIK.

IAD – IMMEDIATE ACTION DRILL

PT Dimalanas : Immediate Action Drill is a drill designed to provide swift and positive reaction
to visual or physical contact with the enemy. During patrol operations, a unit
composed of an 8-man team is sent from a larger force to conduct
reconnaissance and combat patrol.

PT Tabsing : Each of the team members is equipped with individual holistic skills as a result
of the intensive Mental and Physical trainings required for the composition of
the team.

PT Ramirez : Patrols are oftentimes conducted to mountainous areas where hostile units
are prevalent and the element of surprise is the top priority to be taken into
consideration. Exemplary skills for precised reaction and quick decision
making are needed to meet the goals of the patrolling team.

PT Dimalanas : The immediate action drill is also designed to infiltrate areas in any given
location and with skills sufficiency in speed, surprise and swift movement a
deliberate attainment of the successful accomplishment of the assigned
missions. These capabilities include Special Action Team and ideal units to
import in deeper penetrations behind enemy lines.
ALL : Ladies and Gentlemen, at this point in time, let us welcome the PSBRC 2019-
01 Alpha – Golf Batch SIMBAGSIK Immediate Action Drill Team

PT Tabsing : as they render a precise demonstration of the realistic scenario in the

Standard Operations Procedures and tactical maneuvers to be executed by
the troops in the battlefield during the intense contact with the enemy forces in
combat operations.

PT Ramirez : The team is now on their way patrolling the area which is considered as
hostile territory or within the enemy fortress. The movement they are doing is
called as tactical movement. We can observe that each member of the team is
alternately pointing their firearms from left to right, from front to rear of the
elements, covering their respective sectors of fire where the lead scout and
the tail scout accounts a 180 degree angle of their sectors of fire consciously
studying immediate vicinity // vigilantly preparing for enemy presence and
engage them when necessary.

PT Dimalanas : While on patrol, the Special Action Team encounters a temporary halted
enemy force stationing in a bamboo hut. The Lead Scout then signals halt
upon seeing the enemy and calls the Team Leader for confirmation of the
sighted enemy for specific action. The Team Leader may opt to conduct a
hasty raid or disengage considering the enemy strength and fire cover.

PT Tabsing : In this scenario, the Team Leader decided to engage the enemy using hasty
raid; the team tactically executes skirmisher formation // and hastily crawls
towards the enemy position using natural cover and concealment available in
the area to avoid the detection of their presence that may compromise the
mission.

PT Ramirez : When the team clandestinely closes in at the enemy point unnoticed, the team
upon the signal of the leader opens fire.// The team commands fire team
ALPHA first to maneuver to the left, which will be followed by the fire team
BRAVO until they reach vantage position.

PT Dimalanas : Observing that there is no resistance from the enemy, the Team Leader will
command ceasefire. Then the team observes the immediate vicinity of
engagement for enemy presence and any possible threat. Then the team
members change magazines in preparation for the assault and search
objective. The team leader then commands for the assault.

PT Tabsing : The patrol swiftly assaults in the direction of the enemy. Moving with accuracy
and shooting only the team target to ensure that the counter side is clear and
all possible threats are neutralized before further advancing towards the limit
of advance. The Lead Scout and the Tail Scout then take their positions to
serve security for the assaulting team.

Clear! All clear!

PT Ramirez : Upon reaching the Limit of Advance, the Team Leader commands for LOA
where the elements halt, followed by the team leader’s command for the
elements to change magazines.

PT Dimalanas : When the team leader had determined that they are safe, he commands for
search. The Navigator and the Sniper takes their respective position to serve
counter sector security. The search elements then properly search the area
including the bodies of the killed and wounded enemies, in case their bodies
are in a suspicious position or may be capable to execute assault.

PT Tabsing : The search elements take extra care in dealing with them considering that the
enemy may have planted any booby traps.
Enemy casualties were then being properly attended by the team. In case the
enemy is wounded, the team performs Tactical Combat Casualty Care
procedures to treat the wounded enemies and secure them to safer areas.

PT Ramirez : The team then secures the warm bodies of the killed enemies to a certain
area together with the recovered firearms, useful materials, documents and
any other relevant elements that may contribute to the purpose of the mission.

PT Dimalanas : As observed, the security elements provide overall security in the counter
sides.

PT Tabsing : Then the Team Leader calls for the Assistant Team Leader to disseminate
instruction.// When the search is completed and internal instruction is
disseminated, the team will initiate contact through the Radio Man for the
Team Leader to render situation report to the unit and seek for further
instruction.

PT Dimalanas : Then the Team Leader commands PRP.// The troop then withdraws to their
designated Perimeter Rally Point.

PT Ramirez : Before leaving the engagement site, the Assistant Team Leader who is the
demolition expert of the team will then dispose an explosive device to the
bamboo hut to blow it up for the purpose of exterminating the trails of the
mission and any possible recovery of usable elements for the enemy’s side
after the Special Action Team Withdraws.

PT Tabsing : The Assistant Team Leader detonates the bomb planted to the bamboo hut.
(Fire in the hole) Then, the team regroups to patrol formation where the Team
Leader commands for head count and Ammunition, Communication and
Equipment Report.

PT Ramirez : When the hasty raid is completed, the Special Action Team will continue
patrolling to the extraction point.

All : Ladies and Gentlemen, the Special Action Team will now proceed to their next
objective. All documents shall be turned over to the Regiment for Investigation
and Scrutiny.

CQB – CLOSE QUARTER BATTLE

PT Dimalanas : Upon receiving the items recovered by the Special Action Team, the regiment
then recognizes the vital documents needed for further information relevant to
the team’s mission. In this scenario, the regiment learns that a certain leader
of the New Peoples’ Army known as Commander Baruk is situated at a house
at Bula, General Santos City, a highly urbanized area where the group plots
their plans.

The regiment then orders the CQB team to respond to the needs of the
mission. CQB or Closed Quarter Battle is the last option to be undertaken by
the elite team or police force after the negotiation has failed to neutralize
certain situation or is required infiltrates close spaces.

It’s a combination of techniques that includes advance marksmanship,

use of special weapons, demolitions and selective target engagement
conducted by special trained unit against static or halted and moving target to
put a hostile force with minimum collateral damage.

It is executed by the assaulting force composed of 8-man team. Not to

include in the team is the Sniper who was positioned at a strategic distance to
give cover fire to the assaulting team just in case the enemy will be coming
out of the target.

ST: Commander, this is Sniper Team, over.

GC: Go ahead, Sniper Team, this is Ground Commander, over.

As you can see, our assaulting team is approaching towards their last
cover and concealment in a catwalk, swift, and precise manner. In a tactical
formation, each team member takes their respective sectors of fire and
carefully observes the ground surrounding until they reach the point.

When the assaulting team reaches the last cover and concealment, the
team leader will contact the ground commander and inform that the Assaulting
Team has reached the LCC.

TL: Commander, this is Team Leader, over.

GC: Go ahead, Team Leader, over.

TL: Sir, we are already on our last cover and concealment. Any advice, Sir?
over

GC: Proceed to the Final Assault Position, over.

TL: Copy, Sir, over.

The Assaulting Team then proceeds to the Final Assault Position using
their stealth movement, the Trinum formation. Trinum formation is used to
approach target Houses and Buildings to effectively secure the corners of a
building.

Upon reaching the Final Assault Position, the assaulting team assumes
shuffle up formation. The point man and the door opener will check the door.
Since the door is closed, the Team Leader will instruct the demolitionist to
install improvised explosive devise or IED for explosive breaching to initiate
the assault. Then the team leader will contact the Ground Commander to
inform that the Assaulting team is on their final assault position and is ready to
assault the target area when the green light is on.

TL: Commander, this is TL, over.

GC: Go ahead, Team Leader, this is Ground Commander, over.

TL: Sir, we are on our final assault position, over.

This time, the ground commander will initiate a countdown through

radio communication giving them a signal to assault. Since the operation is
explosive, breaching, and sniper initiated, the Sniper aims for the target and is
ready to shoot to initiate the assault simultaneously with explosive breaching
AT THE SIGNAL OF THE GROUND COMMANDER.

GC: Copy that. You have compromised authority; I repeat You have
compromised authority. All line units prepare to assault. The green
light is on, the green light is on! On my count in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
EXECUTE! EXECUTE! EXECUTE!

Then they execute the hallway clearing.

While inside the target area, each member of the team will give twin top
or double top clear shots to armed suspects who will fight against the team or
about to inflict harm to hostages.
Upon infiltrating the room, the elements unsafe rifles, fires and scans the area.
Members of the team in every rooms of the target area will shout CLEAR
means that the suspects where already neutralized. No element shall proceed
to the next points of rooms until the recently clearing element shout “CLEAR”.

When all member of every room already shouted clear, the team leader
will command for DOMINATE and SEARCH the area. Dominate means that
the target area has been cleared and dominated by the assaulting team. After
dominating the area, the Team Leader will command for SEARCH.

During the search, one element initiates the search while the other
positions for cover.

In this scenario, the team members declare necessity of a buddy in a

room where search and cover should be executed.

When the Search has successfully been completed, the team leader
shouts “SEARCH COMPLETED and ALL CLEAR”//and report to the Ground
Commander//

TL: Commander, this is Team Leader, over.

GC: Go ahead, Team Leader, over.

TL: Mission Accomplished, sir. We have neutralized 4 terrorists. One of them

is identified as Commander Baruk. We have recovered 4 high- powered
firearms, assorted ammunitions and subversive documents. All troops are OK
sir. Any advice Commander? over

GC: Good Job Team Leader! Prepare your troops to withdraw and proceed
now to your extraction point, over.

TL: Roger that sir, Over and out.

Then, the Team Leader will command the troops to “WITHDRAW”.

In the withdrawing procedure, the last man positioned in the assaulting

team will be the first man to withdraw from his position.// Upon withdrawing, in
a stand-to position the team leader will command “CLEAR ALL YOUR
WEAPONS”,// then he will conduct head count to the assaulting members and
conduct body check to his team members if one of his teammates was hurt or
wounded during the assault.

This time, the Sniper Team will report to the Ground Commander.

ST: Commander, this is ST. Mission accomplished sir, any advice commander
over

GC: Good Job Sniper Team! Proceed now to your extraction point, over.

ST: Roger that sir, over and out.

The CQB Team is now performing the Slalom; it is a formation during a CQB
training to focus on their foot works purposely to develop their speed, stealth
movement, and accuracy during barricaded assault.

That’s the end of CQB OPERATION. THANK YOU!

1. WIPER FORMATION
The PSBRC Class 2019-01 Silent Drill Company forms a mirror formation in a
precise and smooth manner which symbolizes the regimented way of life here
at the Regional Training Center 12 as Police Trainees. Inculcating to us the
importance of unity in performing the duties and responsibilities designated to
us.

And now, they execute their first salute. Salute is considered as the highest
form of military courtesy. In this camp, we, the batch SIMBAGSIK, proudly
salute.

PT Tabsing : 2. COUNTDOWN FORMATION

In life, change is constant. Nothing is permanent. Each and every one has set
a unique timeline. In the course of training, however, the PSBRC Class 2019-
01 Alpha to Golf, aims to execute all the training routines in a regimented way.

Countdown forms part of our day to day life as Police Trainees. We prepare
and anticipate phases, shifts and transitions after every time is up. We make
sure that everything we do and every second of the countdown counts. It
conditions us to be alert and time-conscious. Always ready for the next sets of
grace under pressure.

3. HI FORMATION
This formation is a simple way of saying HI to each and every on and sending
our honored feeling of welcoming you as part of the celebration of the
momentous event, making it a memorable one. A heartwarming welcome to
the uniformed and non-uniformed personnel, local government units, private
sectors, criminology students, family and friends, guests and participants.

ALL : Once again, Ladies and Gentlemen, the Batch SIMBAGSIK welcomes you to
the Regional Training Center 12, the home of the Region’s Finest.

PT Ramirez : 4. PNPTI FORMATION

The National Police Training Institute has played a major role in the training of
our country’s policemen. Its long history can be traced from the year 1905,
four years after the Americans formally established the Philippine
Constabulary for the purpose of enforcing the law and maintaining peace and
order.

With the passage on December 13, 1990 of Republic Act 6975 creating the
Philippine National Police under a reorganized Department of the Interior and
Local Government, the PC and INP Training Command was renamed PNP
Training Command and become a primary component of the Philippine Public
Safety College or PPSC. PPSC was created to assume overall responsibility
of the training, human resource development and continuing education of all
personnel of the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, and
Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.
However, last October 7, 2019, the PNP formally took full supervision of the
National Police Training Institute (NPTI) and its 18 regional training centers
from the PPSC, 28 years after the organization was deprived of its function to
train its future personnel. The transfer of supervision of the NPTI from the
PPSC to the PNP will allow the police force to have first-hand involvement in
training future police officers. By operation of law, the PNP is now solely
responsible for the making of a complete police officer from recruitment to
retirement.

PT Tabsing : 5. ARROW FORMATION

An arrow signifies direction. This single arrow formation is pointing towards
one significant thing – our goal. The path we take towards that goal is this
training. It may not always run smoothly, but having a goal is part of what
makes us continue to struggle through this less travelled road. On behalf of
the batch SIMBAGSIK, the Silent Drill Company shows a powerful stance in
depicting such symbol to show our willpower to reach that ultimate goal – to
become what this institution wants us to become, an excellent batch of public
servants to uphold service, honor and justice for this nation.

(Entrance of staff)
ALL Ladies and gentlemen, let us welcome the officer and staff of the Public Safety
Basic Recruit Course CL 2019-01, Batch SIMBAGSIK!

PT Ramirez : 6. HEART FORMATION

“When life gets tough, the tough gets going”. This timeless Proverb subsists in
a life of Police Trainees. It is not about undergoing physical hardship to be
physically strong. It is also bearing an optimistic mind to overcome the burden,
to neutralize the pressure and pain, and to fight back the weariness to become
a physically and mentally suitable Public Servant. Smile despite the
circumstances and laugh throughout the pain. Sometimes, it’s just about
learning how to dance the music of weariness, rhythm of pressure and pain
and beat of burden.

PT Tabsing : “Rest if you must, but don’t you quit”

7. CIRCLE FORMATION
This formation illustrates our unity and oneness. Batch SIMBAGSIK entered
the portals of this institution as one; and together, we will endeavor to make all
our exerted efforts pay off.

8. THROWING AND PLANTING OF RIFLE FORMATION

Change is the only constant thing in this world. Experiencing ups and downs
of life is beneficial to the wellbeing of every individual. Undergoing the Public
Safety Basic Recruit Course for six months as a mandatory requirement for
the said course is the most crucial transition Police Officers can have. The
phase where civilian mentality is being turned into police personality. This is
also where the discipline is being inculcated to their minds. It enables us to
accept the rules and orders of the higher authority. Discipline enables us to
think and act maturely and take decisions responsibly. It makes us self-
propelled, self-controlled and self-guiding individuals.

PT Ramirez : 9. CROSS AND CRESCENT FORMATION

The silent drillers now start to depict the cross and crescent formation. Both
figures are prominent representations of two of the world’s largest religions.
The cross stands for Christianity, and the crescent represents Islam. These
symbols and religions can be found here in Mindanao – the home of diverse
cultures and traditions.

The batch revered Mindanao where tri-people exist. In this formation, the
batch manifests an unwavering respect to the religious and cultural
differences. It further displays the unity of the batch , that despite coming from
different places, having different beliefs, customs and traditions, we still
managed to develop a new family which serves as a reflection of what we are
as a whole, as a batch, as SIMBAGSIK.

The drill further emphasizes that cultural and religious diversity is never a
hindrance in realizing the vision, mission of the organization, rather, with
thorough understanding, it fortifies the interpersonal relationships where the
identification of strengths and weaknesses is foreseen as the realization of
success.

PT Tabsing : 10. MALCOLM X FORMATION

“I’m for truth, no matter who tells it. I’m for justice no matter who it is for or
against. I’m a human being, first and foremost, and as such, I’m for whoever
and whatever benefits humanity as a whole”

These are words of the legendary Malcolm X who is a prominent African

American Muslim figure who demanded for change in the most trying times for
the blacks during the Civil Rights Movement. He was born Malcolm Little. He
changed his last name to X to convey his rejection of his slave name. Also, it
represents the unknown names of his ancestors and their culture that had
been defiled by slavery.

For the PSBRC Class 2019-01 Alpha to Golf, this formation, is a tribute to all
those who have dedicated and sacrificed their lives to stand for justice – those
who fought against any form of discrimination. X is whatever we stand for. But
for us, this attests our stand for respect, equality, and justice in service of the
Filipino People.

PT Ramirez : 11. PEACE FORMATION

Brave men, living and dead have sacrificed their lives for the succeeding
generations to live in peace. As part of that generation as Police Trainees, we
regard peace as legacy to uphold. Each of us strives to achieve inner peace to
be able to share it with others. We prevent and resolve conflicts and never
employ any means of force or violence. Our concerted efforts to maintain
harmony and tranquility in the course of this training manifests our propensity
as peace builders and peace keepers of this nation.

PT Tabsing : 12. CLOCK FORMATION

“Time is too slow for those who wait, to swift for those who fear, too long for
those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time
is eternity.”

Through this saying of Henry Van Dyke, it makes us realize that time depends
on our emotions. There is a time for joy and a time for sorrow. Time is
sometimes the trickiest element. But one thing is important, it never stops.
Time as the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past,
present, and future, regarded as a whole remarks the value of immediate
response to whatever we do.

ALL : So for now, let’s have a look at our wrists for the time check, the time now is
_____. And this time check is brought to you by Silent Drill Company of
PSBRC Cl 2019-01 Alpha – Golf.

PT Ramirez : 13. TWO-ZERO-ONE-NINE FORMATION

2019 is the most changing year for the batch SIMBAGSIK. It is their first time
to welcome the year being a police officer. Anchored to it being entitled so, is
the duties and responsibilities to consider most the welfare of the people. It is
the start of their lives to set aside their personal interests for the well-being of
the people they oath to serve and protect. Showing the discipline being
cultivated to them which will nourish through times that will identify them as an
effective and efficient Police Officers. But there’s no other way to embrace this
noble profession than to love and enjoy serving.

ALL : And now, we will witness the other side of the Batch SIMBAGSIK represented
by the SILENT DRILL COMPANY as they show their dancing skills!

PT Tabsing : 14. BYE FORMATION

Frederick Buechner once said, “You can kiss your family and friends good-bye
and put miles between you, but at the same time you carry them with you in
your heart and your mind, because you do not just live in a world but a world
lives in you”. Goodbyes are used to express good wishes to people after
worthy conversations from worthy friendships and good rapport. The PSBRC
Cl 2019-01 Alpha – Golf Batch SIMBAGSIK wishes goodwill and peace to the
guests, friends, family and the community as a whole with a simple gesture of
Goodbye. So Bye bye, but just for now, for goodbyes does not mean forever,
this batch of soon to be Police Officers is looking forward to seeing the
community soon as full pledged Police Officers working hand in hand with the
responsive community towards the attainment of the goals of peace and
development.

ALL : Once again, thank you for spending your precious time with us. It has been a
great pleasure seeing your smiles through this presentation wholeheartedly
