□ Cleaning floors
What are the steps for cleaning a floor?

□1 Sweep floor

Begin by sweeping up debris. Sweep in one direction. Don’t push debris around under tables and chairs! Pull it all toward a single location, and use the dust pan
to pick it up.

□2 Place Floor Care solution in bucket

Fill a clean mop bucket with Floor Care solution from the dispenser or Gallon. Use fresh solution every time.

□3 Put clean mop in solution

Use hot water. Always wash the mop before filling the bucket. Never put a dirty mop in clean water.

□4 Place caution signs near areas to be mopped

Always place a Caution Wet Floor sign around the perimeter of the area being mopped prior to mopping. This will warn Staff and customers to avoid the area and
use caution. Do not remove signs until floor is completely dry.

□5 Wring out mop

□6 Mop floor

Mop in a figure 8 pattern.

Flip the mop over after four figure 8s. Return mop to bucket to refresh with Floor Care Solution. Use the separate mop for store floor & washrooms. This helps
reduce the spread of odor from the washroom to store.

Mop at least 30 minutes before peak periods, so the floor is dry for customers and Staff.
