WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WHY & HOW

Geographical questions need to be kept in mind when conducting


research on your chosen event – I have some questions displayed
below which you may find helpful in considering the interactions,
interconnections and implications of the geographical event.

Off course, when you dig into researching your chosen event and
become highly interested in the topic you will have many more
questions and answers to add!

WHO?
• Who is involved?
• Who is affected by it?
• Who responded to it?

WHAT?
• What was the cause?
• What was the effect on people/animals/plants?
• What importance might this event have?

WHERE?
• Where did it happen?
• Where have the effects been felt?

WHEN?
• When did it happen?
• When was the impact felt by people?
• When did people respond to the event?

WHY?
• Why did it happen?
• Why did people/animals/plants respond the way they did?
• Why is this event geographically important?

HOW?
• How did it happen?
• How many people were affected?
• How did people/animals/plants respond?
• How long did the event last?
• How long will the effects be felt?
