Reflection Essay 2

I learned how to properly do MLA format, because in the first essay my professor pointed

out that my essay was not in MLA format. In government class we have weekly writing

assignments and my professor taught me how to break up my ideas into paragraphs, therefore

that’s what I did throughout the essay. Well in essay one we didn’t have to do an annotated

bibliography, my criminal justice class is very different from this course, all we talk about is

laws, courts, corrections and many more things that I would never use here. In this essay I

learned a lot of time management because this annotated bibliography and the research analysis

essay took plenty of time, this will help me to not procrastinate on future assignments. I do not

think I would need to do annotated bibliographies for the rest of my classes unless it’s another

English class. The creation of an annotated bibliography helped me understand what the point of

the authors were in each source, it helped me develop my research analysis essay. It will help me

approach writing skills in the future because I had to really look for the peer reviewed articles,

which was difficult because there had to be ten sources. My writing strengths were that I come

up with many ideas and I brainstorm all the time. The weaknesses are that I had my information

all over the place, I just needed to fix everything. My strengths and weaknesses have always

been the same, in English 1301 I also had the same struggles. The comments might be different

because this essay was more difficult, although I tried my best it might have some mistakes, like

not citating right, I might have gone a little bit over the word count too. The most challenging

aspect of this Unit was finding the ten peer reviewed articles, along with writing the annotated

bibliography because I had never written one. The least challenging was to come up with a topic

because immigration has always been one of my favorite topics to talk about.
