Armageddon Summer by Jane Yolen and Bruce Coville tells a story about the religious group on Mount

Weeupcut called Believers in the year 2000. The Believers think the world is going to end on July 27 th.
Jed is in the Believers camp, but is skeptical of their beliefs. Marina’s mother is a religious heretic and
Marina doesn’t know if she’s like her mother. As you switch back between the two characters you see
how they grow as people and how they are different from others at the camp. Figure out if the world
will burn on July 27th and if it does then what will happen to the group of Believers.
