Cecelia Ahern “How to fall in love?

Cecelia Ahern was born on the 30th of September in 1981 and grew up in Dublin.
Ahern is the daughter of former Taoiseach (prime minister) of Ireland, Bertie
Ahern. Her older sister, Georgina Ahern, is married to Nicky Byrne of Irish pop
group Westlife. In 2000, Cecelia Ahern was part of the Irish pop group Shimma,
who finished third in the Irish national final for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Before starting her writing and producing career, she obtained a degree in
Journalism and Media Communications from Griffith College Dublin, but
withdrew from a Master's degree course to pursue her writing career. After
completing a degree in Journalism and Media Communications, Cecelia wrote her
first novel at 21 years old. Her debut novel, PS I Love You was published in
January 2004, and was followed by Where Rainbows End (aka Love, Rosie) in
November 2004. Both novels were adapted to films; PS I Love You starred Hilary
Swank and Gerard Butler, and Love, Rosie starred Lily Collins and Sam Claflin.

Cecelia has published a novel every year since then and to date has published 17
novels; PS I Love You, Where Rainbows End, If You Could See Me Now, A Place
Called Here, Thanks for the Memories, The Gift, The Book of Tomorrow, etc. To
date, Cecelia’s books have sold 25 million copies internationally, are published in
over 40 countries, in 30 languages.

The story focuses on the two main characters – Christine Rose and Adam Basil.
She is a recruitment consultant, who helps people with finding their places in their
lives, fixing their problems. In addition to this, she has an obsession with How To
self help books. Despite that fact, she also suffers from her own mental and
physical issues and she also needs such “fixer”.

Adam feels his life is not worth living for a number of reasons. His father wants
him to take over the family's chocolate company whilst Adam would rather
continue his career as a rescue helicopter pilot for the Irish Coastguard. He has
also discovered that his girlfriend is having an affair with best friend.
One night, the destiny throws them together. After seeing a man, Simon, shoot
himself in the head, she changed completely her opinion about her own happiness
in life. Then, after ending miserable marriage, she meets Adam on the other side of
the Ha’penny Bridge. He is threatening to jump, but Christine manages to convince
him that his life is worth living, is funny and valuable in only 2 weeks, otherwise
he will end his life on his 35th birthday.
That sounds really crazy, but she has made it! Christine has shown him all the
beauty of human being in her specific way. By the way, not only Adam has learnt
how to enjoy every single moment of his life; both Adam and Christine know now
how to deal with problems and issues, how to say sorry, etc. And last but not least
– how to fall in love.
I thoroughly appreciate the meaning that this story has beneath:
 our lives are short, but extremely valuable and they are only our, so we
could do whatever we want;
 life is wonderful thing and no matter how hard it is – the darkest our is just
before the dawn;
 “Life is a series of moments and moments are always changing, just like
thoughts, negative and positive. And though it may be human nature to
dwell, like many natural things it's senseless, senseless to allow a single
thought to inhabit a mind because thoughts are like guests or fair-weather
friends. As soon as they arrive, they can leave, and even the ones that take a
long time to emerge fully can disappear in an instant. Moments are precious;
sometimes they linger and other times they're fleeting, and yet so much
could be done in them; you could change a mind, you could save a life and
you could even fall in love.”
 It will motivate us to believe in ourselves and live life in the way we want
to.
