RESSURECTION by Rebecca Dun-Krahn

The loss of an important can alter

a person's life.
In reality, everyone has gone through their own trials, sufferings,
and loss in life. Nobody is unused to feeling and dealing with it. Some
people used pain as a source of strength in their lives, and as a direct
consequence, they were successful. Some people are unable to bear the
pain they are experiencing and have given up their hope of seeing the
light, opting instead to follow the darkness. They allow their pain to
dominate and own them, transforming them into something they never
expected. Losing someone has the ability to change a person, whether for
the better or for the worse. A person's spiritual, mental, and physical well-
being may be numbed by too much pain. They were numb to the pain that
life had brought at them, and when they'd had enough, they were no
longer able to feel the pain.
These are the following scenarios in the story Resurrection by
Rebecca Dun-Krahn had show the effect of losing someone can alter a
person’s life. The first one when her first ever chicken, Big Ann, a Rhode
Island Red had died, she shed tears. And when they’ve had lost a fair
number, Rebecca was used to it and doesn’t feel sympathy anymore as she
did to her first chicken. “ I suppose I have become a not-very-nice person
also”. That’s what she said to herself considering that she became tougher
after what happened to Big Ann, and it doesn’t affect to her anymore. The
second scenario, ‘I saw Vern take his last breath, but somehow that didn’t
make it easier to accept his death. It took me a long time to really
understand that I wouldn’t ever again hear his heavy work boots tromping
up the back staircase to my kitchen, wouldn’t hear him open the door (he
had built both the stairs and the door) and say, “Oh, hi Rebeca,” as if he
were surprised to see me there. To realize that he wouldn’t finish the
kitchen, which he had put so much of himself into over the course of six
years, was a shock. I had always thought he would get better, even in the
final days' -Rebecca said. At the very first sentence, Vern was different
from all who left them, because he isn’t a chicken nor a cat. They were
hurt because they had been with him more for a long time. Vern was
special to and a man innocent in their hearts. They went through a lot and
many memories were made. It's devastating to lose someone close to you.
You won't be able to see or interact with him any longer. The third will be
a six-month-old Merlin who was killed after being struck by a car. It's hard
for them to lose Blackberry and then Merlin because they've learned to
love those cats that provide them with warmth and enjoyment.
Whether you like it or not, we will all disappear from this world
soon. Nobody is invincible. We have no power of our own fate. We can't
stop someone we care for from leaving because we all started as ashes and
will end up as ashes again. Neither you nor we have the power to stop
death. Nothing is permanent because everything is transient. “The loss of
an important person will alter a person's life,” says the title. True, but life
does not come to an end there. It doesn't stop when our loved ones pass
away. It hurts, but after all that has happened, we must rise and fight
again. When it comes to our loved ones, each of us has our own
background and story. Acceptance is difficult because they are there to
help us. But, even though we flip the universe on its head, we won't be
able to save them because we aren't God. So value the person who is near
to you. Show it to them for the rest of your life rather than regretting it
later because you didn't. Since our lives are so short, let us not waste them
in sorrow for what we haven't done.
