Summary of the Report

The main objective of having human resource planning is to have an accurate


number of employees required, with matching skill requirements to accomplish
organizational goals. Human resource planning addresses the issue of selecting and
hiring employees with poor qualities and lack of required skills, qualification, and
capabilities. This also helps to ensure that supply of workers go smoothly as the number
of employees retire and die get larger and the only way to replace them is to hire and
select new employees suited to the job.

Technological changes affect and influence how the management and


employees work in an organization. The higher technological skills required, the higher
the qualification of employees are. The employees must be continuously growing and
developing with the trainings provided by the management. It is human resource
planning that enables organizations to cope with such changes.

The need for human resource planning is also felt in order to identify areas of
surplus personnel or areas in which there is shortage of personnel. Then, in case of
surplus personnel, it can be redeployed in other areas of organization. Conversely, in
case of shortage of personnel, it can be made good by downsizing the work force.
Human resource planning is important to organization because it benefits the
organization in several ways.

The human resource planning consider the future events and this might lead to
discovery of better steps and ways to managing human resources. This can also help to
prevent difficult challenges along the way. When planning takes place, some of the
problems in the workplace might be mitigated. With planning, consultation in other
groups or professionals must be considered.

The main purpose of the human resource management is to set goals and
objectives of the company. In other words, it is to have the precise number of
employees, with their skills matching the requirements of the organization, so that the
organization can move towards its goals. Human resource planning arises when
unemployment is a great concern. The scarcity of manpower and well-performing
employees give rise for the need of human resource planning.

Human resource planning must be successful to prevent shortage and surplus of


workforce in the organization. It serves as the key to discharge functions properly,
efficient utilization of workforce, motivating them, and boosting productivity.
