I am a food lover. I love eating all kinds of dishes but my favorite ones are Spanish dishes. I usually cook
home-made food so I prepare Spanish omelette, paella or gazpacho.

TASK 3: SOCIAL MEDIA CHAT (30 - 40 words) 10 MINUTES

1. In Spain there is a huge variety of food. We follow the Mediterranean diet so our food is very healthy and
tasty. In Andalucia, my region, you can find gazpacho or salmorejo, fried fish and Iberian ham.

2. When I have a party I usually prepare tapas which are also very popular in Spain. For example, I can
prepare some Iberian ham sandwiches, Spanish omelette and croquettes which are my favourite.

3. I consider this idea to be wonderful! I love eating, so it would be very interesting to try typical dishes from
other parts of the world and compare them to Spanish food. I have only tried Chinese and Italian food.

Dear Mary,

How are you?

I write this email to tell you that the International Food Party for tomorrow has been cancelled. I was really
happy about that because I wanted to try new food.

I think they have to find a new place to cook, as we paid our tickets.

PART 2: FORMAL EMAIL (120-150 words) 20 MINUTES

Dear Secretary of the club,

My name is Ana Melgar and I am a member of the Yum Yum Cooking Club.

The purpose of this email is to express my total dissatisfaction with the last email received in relation with
the fact that tomorrow’s International Food Party will be cancelled as the local schools cannot provide us
with kitchens. And also to make some suggestions.

On the one hand, I believe that the organization could find another place, such as an hotel or private club,
not to change the date of the party as many people organized themselves for that date, myself included, and
booked hotels around the local school because they live in another city.

On the other hand, if that is not possible, we ask for the total amount of our tickets to be refunded.

I hope my suggestions are taken into consideration.
