How the Teutons Came to Be

The Lore of the Teutonics

Prior to Arriving in Citramaria…….

In the early 12th century, the Teutonic Templar Order had heard word of Citramaria.
Vast open spaces, ready to be conquered by civilization. It was only destiny to spread the word
and order of Christ unto all known spaces of Earth. However, the Teutonic Templars did not
push for conquering such lands, they had unfinished business in Jerusalem. By the 15th century,
the Crusades were long over, the templars lived in a period of economic prosperity. Trading and
building in power, the Order began to develop their navy.

During the period of blessings and possibility, Hochmeister Elsmire received a vision
from God. In that vision, the leader of the Teutonic Templar Order had seen an eden artifact,
and it was said that it could be found in the Lands of Citramaria. The Teutonic Templars had
collected themselves and set sail out to find the Eden Artifact rumored to belong to a
brotherhood of Assassins.

The Teutons’ Grand Entrance

Crashing upon the waves of a beautiful and tropical beach, the Teutonics came face to
face with the Levantine Assassin Brotherhood. The battle under palm trees and on the face of
the golden sand left the Assassins in defeat. No one was expecting an invasion of crusaders to
overtake Novigrad.

After the fleeing of the “Levants”, the Teutons built a grand citadel in Novigrad. And
while more of their forces joined them, they began to explore the Woodlands shortly thereafter.
Upon loads of land and trees, the Teutonics wasted no time, lumbering wood and stone to forge
a fort in a large forest. Helmgyr Motte had become the home of the Teutonic Templar Order.

Chasing the assassins throughout the Western Woodlands, through the heart of
Citramaria, the Templars pushed the Assassins to remain located in a place called Liliana.

Our Order to this Day

Teutonic Templar Order is a group of devout believers, dedicated to claiming the land
they were promised by their God. Since their invasion of Citramaria, the Order has been at war
with the Assassin’s Brotherhood in a dispute over the land promised to them. They’re often
found raiding Fort Liliana or at their home in Helmgyr Motte.
