As the Covid-19 pandemic strikes the Philippines and the rest of the world, everyone is

affected. Many workers lost their job, people started to isolate themselves in order not to carry
the virus and spread it in the community. The effect of the Covid-19 pandemic in the Philippines
is a serious problem specially for frontliners who’s working in the exposed environment which is
the hospitals with an extreme exposure, they are really the most affected one which caused a
chaos to other healthcare workers that is receiving a minimum wage after battling with covid-19
everyday with their patients. Having this issue on hand, I argued that we should apply the
framework of globalization.

Globalization helps the economy of the Philippines after the dictatorship of Marcos as all the
debts were paid already, the Philippines stand-out along with the foreign countries with
successful economy growth. But when the global pandemic aroused the economic growth
faltered since we are the most affected country in South East Asian with a slow response from
the government itself that is being stated with Mr. Ronald U. Mendoza, the Dean and Professor
at Ateneo School of Government- Ateneo De Manila University from his interview with a blog-
website [ CITATION Men21 \l 13321 ]

He also stated the slow connection of government to its people and their response brings the
country to a weak recovery since the pandemic strike in 2019, the inability of proper shifting
lockdown to a better strategy gives us a huge factor to faltered our economy as businesses were
forced to shut down and to lessen workers does this brings a huge impact in the economic state.

I know that there are many negative insights and thoughts about globalization amidst the
pandemic in the Philippines as many websites posting the positive response of the government
just like how the Philippines has the longest and strictest lockdown in the world [ CITATION
Kar21 \l 13321 ] but this strategy makes it even harder for us to rise in the effect of Covid-19
specially for our HealthCare workers as the government has a slow response when it comes to
this issue. Somehow, the strict isolation of Covid positive patients brings us a huge impact to
lessen the growing population of covid cases, however, the strict implementation of this strategy
scared the Filipino people to get admitted when they are sick.

At this point, the government should know how to understand the point of views of its people as
it is not easy to voice out and to get helped in this time because of the slow response from the
sectors. The government should also prioritize the needs of every Filipino citizen amidst
pandemic.
