ACCESS AND SHORTCUTS

The places at which you work, and the access to these places, should always be free from
unnecessary equipment, materials and substances and other obstructions which are liable to cause
people to trip or slip or fall.

All entry and exit points shall be provided at work sites

 For excavation (for under ground works)

 For confined spaces

 Elevated areas (above ground works)

 Material staging areas (for storing our materials and equipments)

 Inside of warehouse or in any places.

These places are in need of ladders, stairways and walkways or even dedicated pedestrian pathways
as means of access. Such access must be provided with sufficient lightings when working after work
hour or during overtime.
Ladders must be free from electrical cables; welding cables, oils & grease and any other chemical
substances that could lead the user to fall or slip. For pedestrian and walkways must be protected
with proper guardrail system.

Don't risk serious injury by taking shortcuts. If you are working on a ladder, scaffold, or other
elevated platform, make sure you know the requirements for using them safely. Always use fall
protection equipment when it is required.
