TOI 07-05 requirements

A candidate who fails his initial certification online
or performance test must wait 30 days before being
allowed a second test.
A candidate who fails his second certification online or

performance test must submit proof of remedial training
(Saudi Aramco employees must complete ITC refresher
course) to be allowed a third certification test.
A candidate who fails his third certification online or

performance test must wait 12 months before being
allowed another certification test.

A certified Saudi Aramco supervisor I can supervise,
inspect, and sign scaffold tags for all scaffolds.

Scope of the scaffold supervisor I

certification tests
Saudi Aramco scaffold certification tests covers the
certification of Saudi Aramco employees and contractor
employees as defined in G.I. 8.001 (Safety requirements
for scaffolds supervisor I).

Purpose of the scaffolding supervisor I

certification tests
To determine if the Saudi Aramco employee or
contractor employee has the necessary (theoretical)
written knowledge and (practical) performance skills, as
defined in G.I.8001 (Safety requirements for scaffolds
supervisor I), and in the construction safety manual
(CSM) chapter II-2, II-3, and II-5 (elevated work areas,
ladders, and scaffolds), to perform at the work site as
a scaffold supervisor I.

At least five years of scaffold erection experience is
required before seeking certification as a certified Saudi
Aramco scaffold supervisor I.

Introduction to the scaffold supervisor

I written certification test
Description
A written online computer test consisting of approximately
40 theoretical questions that cover Saudi Aramco G.I.
8.001 (Safety requirements for scaffolding), construction
safety manual (CSM) chapter II-2, II-3, and II-5 (elevated
work areas, ladders, and scaffolds), and working
procedures and practices for the safe erection, alteration,
and dismantling of scaffolding.

• Interpreting scaffold plans
• Fall protection
• Conditions and installation of portable ladders
• Usage and storage of scaffold components
• Load duty ratings of scaffolds

• Configurations of bracing tube and coupler
• Installations of guys, ties, rakers, anchors, and
outriggers
• Scaffold working platform construction
• Scaffold landing construction
• Installation of tube and coupler scaffold components
• Construction of mobile and tower scaffolds
• Construction of underhung scaffolds
• Safe erection, alteration, and dismantling of
scaffolds
Note: All candidates must have minimum computer skills and

English language understanding to be able to undertake Saudi
Aramco scaffold supervisor I certification tests.

I performance certification test
Description
The (practical) performance test requires the candidate
to inspect, identify, and document which parts of tube
and coupler scaffolds are acceptable and document all
the faults and their corrective actions (refer to example
of the performance inspection sheet).
Purpose
To determine if the Saudi Aramco employee or contractor
employee has the (practical) performance skills set
out in G.I 8.001 (Scaffolding supervisor I certificate
requirements).

I re-certification test
Description
The Saudi Aramco scaffold supervisor I re-certification
test consists of a (theoretical) written online computer
and (practical) performance test.
Note: The Saudi Aramco scaffold supervisor I re-certification test is

the same certification test as the initial certification test.
Who should apply for re-certification

The Saudi Aramco Employee or contractor employee
should apply for re-certification approximately one
month before the expiry date of his certificate.
Purpose
To determine if the Saudi Aramco employee or contractor
employee has retained the (Theoretical) written
knowledge and (practical) performance skills set out in
G.I 8.001 (Scaffold supervisor I requirements).
Note: Line organizations are responsible for tracking expiration

dates and submitting employee nominations with sufficient lead time
to prevent a lapse in certification validity.

Test duration and contents

The Saudi Aramco scaffold supervisor I certification
test consists of a (theoretical) written online computer
test and a (practical) performance test. Successful
completion of the theoretical/written online computer
test, qualifies the candidate to be able to take the
(practical) performance test.
The Saudi Aramco scaffold supervisor I written online

test duration is 90 minutes and consists of approximately
40 questions.
The Saudi Aramco scaffold supervisor I performance test

is conducted over a period of one day.

written certification test consists of questions on the
