Student Performance Rating: Highly Effective

The Student Performance Rating (SPR) is computed for teachers using student performance data from local,
state, and national assessments depending on grade and subject taught. For school year FY19, the School
District of Palm Beach County generated expected scores for each identified assessment based on select
characteristics and prior achievement of students. The model rating is based on the proportion of students
assigned to the teacher who met or exceeded the expected score for that model. For teachers who fall under
multiple models, the model ratings are averaged. Based on the FY19 agreement with CTA, the teacher's Final
Student Performance Rating (SPR) includes the Districtwide student performance rating as measured by VAM
(Highly Effective) as a portion of the rating. The impact of including the district is limited to a one level increase
in the rating and cannot result in a decline for the teacher. For more information on the FY19 Student
Performance Models, see: http://growth.palmbeachschools.org/
