Kitty Squid

Materials: Gauge:
 Scrap yarn, maybe 25g. I recommend sport or worsted weight, Not particularly important, just make
but you could try a gigantic or tiny Kitty Squid with bulky or sure the stitches are tight enough
fingering weight, respectively. that the filling stays put.
 Teensy amount of scrap yarn in contrasting color for eyes
(optional). Size:
 Crochet hook, size smaller than recommended for weight of Approximately 6” long in worsted
yarn, to keep stitches tight enough to contain filling in spite of weight, but will vary depending on
rough play. (I used size F for sport weight, size G for worsted.) yarn, hook, etc.
 Small amount of filling material. Polyfill, beans, etc. You can
even use more scrap yarn.
 Catnip (optional).
 Yarn needle.

Instructions:

Note: If you want to have a string on the top of your squid that you can use to bounce it around and play
interactively your cat, begin by leaving a long tail; or for a little added durability, work a length of chain stitches (up
to a couple of feet long). If your cat prefers independent play, you can skip this step. Warning: An unsupervised cat
can easily sever a length of yarn, and swallowing it could have severe consequences for kitty’s digestive tract.
Nobody wants that.
