EDUCATION
INTRODUCTION Tendon & nerve gliding exercise
Goal: to let the wrist and hand to rest while maintain
the functional position of wrist and hand
Benefit: injury able to heal properly and faster

PREPARATION ORTHOSIS
Open on the straps and prepare for wearing
1. Does the inside orthosis have a smooth finish
2. Is the general workmanship satisfactory

PREPARATION PATIENT
In sitting position, remove bracelet/watches

CHECK OUT ORTHOSIS


1. When patient wearing orthosis
a) The fulcrum splint is placed at the axis of joint
(wrist)
b) Resistance arm is applied by the proximal
segment of splint
c) The effort arm is applied by the distal segment of
splint
d) The wrist is in neutral position
e) The volar palmar extend to the distal palmar
crease to allow full MCP flexion
f) Is the patient comfortable using this orthosis
g) Does the patient consider the orthosis
satisfactory as to comfort, function, and
appearances.
