Analytical Exposition

Analytical Exposition is a text that elaboration the writer’s opinion on

phenomena/issues without persuading the readers to do something. This text will
only persuade the readers that the phenomena/issues are important/worth it to be
discussed by providing the arguments/opinions to support the topic.

A. The Purpose of The Text

To persuade the reader that something is the case.

B. Generic structure of The Text

 Thesis : penyampaian pendapat terkait isu/masalah aktual yang terjadi (position and preview)
 Arguments : penyampaian pendapat yang dikuatkan dengan Elaborasi/alasan penguat
 Reiteration : penguatan kembali argumen-argumen penulis

C. Grammatical Features
a. Terfokus pada ‘General nouns’ atau objek yang bersifat umum. E.g. handphone, car, pollution, dsb.
b. Menggunakan ‘Connectives’ misalnya firstly, secondly, dsb.
c. Menggunakan ‘Mental Process’ misalnya : think, realize, feel, consider, understand, dsb.
d. Menggunakan ‘Relation Process’ misalnya : should, must be
e. Menggunakan Simple Present

The Importance of Having Breakfast

In a busy morning, people tend to skip their breakfast.

No More for Homework

Homework is what our teachers give us most of the time. But personally
I think that homework is ineffective in developing students' skill because of
some reasons.
Firstly, homework is a waste of time, because students are just forced to
complete easy tasks that they already know to do. Smart students actually need
something more challenging rather than review what they have learnt in their
classroom.
Secondly, homework is ineffective because the tasks you do at home
mostly in the forms of memory rather than discovery. It is considerably boring
for some students.
Thirdly, homework makes students unable to spend their leisure time
freely. When students come home from school they are usually tired from their
activities at school during the day. They need to take a rest or refreshing their
mind by playing games.
From the reasons above we can conclude that homework is ineffective
and is not the best way to develop students' skill.
