Confucius is a Chinese philosopher and was born in
Eastern China in the 6th century BCE. He expressed his
thoughts through the philosophy of Confucianism
which was widespread in China after his death and
spread even further to other east Asian countries such
as Korea and Japan and his ideology is followed by
many east Asians up to the present day.
Confucianism is an ancient Chinese belief system,
which focuses on the importance of personal ethics
and morality. His philosophical ideas mainly focus on
he importance of a virtuous life, filial piety and
ancestor worship.
Confucian Philosophy enforces the importance of
inner virtue and morality which is important for
children to learn from a young age to adopt these
values into their day to day lives. The values of
Confucianism teach children to be obedient to their
parents, respect others and preaches the importance
of education which can help children to learn about
hard work from a young age. Confucius hoped to
achieve harmony with the 5 values and 5 relationships.
When Confucius’ beliefs and ideology is properly
carried out, the school community would have an even
closer bond and there would be respect for each
student and staff, creating a peaceful harmony.
Confucianism strongly enforces filial piety and respect
for hierarchy and conservation of traditions. Although
conserving traditions is important, it prevents
innovation and make people stuck in an old time
period. Strongly enforcing filial piety can trap the
younger generations into old thinking and not have
their own minds. Additionally, Confucianism is
extremely sexist. As Confucianism dictates the respect
for hierarchy, it naturally oppresses women as within
that hierarchy men have more social status and
obligations than women. 
It is still relevant in 2021 as its ideology has formed
communism in China and many East Asians follow
Confucian ideologies.
