Playing for passion by Michael Lozano
Nine years ago, I came to work for the Quito Furniture company. I didn't know anyone
in the area, so I decided to do some exercise to meet new people. However, I felt really
uneasy. I tried to do different types of sports, some managed to do them satisfactorily
and others not. I found an answer to all my problems by going to play soccer.
A colleague of mine invited me to play soccer in the Chamber of Commerce. I didn't
say yes right away because it didn't sound very interesting. However, I decided that it
could be a good sport for me, so I kept going. This was the beginning of my passion for
soccer.
At first, I had to play slowly because I was not very well in physics. However, I
improved quickly and now I can play pretty fast for hours. I started to feel much better.
While I was on a professional soccer field we played a game which was made up of
teams of eleven people each in one weekend, I met Daniela. She is now my lover. We
train once or twice a week and we love and share this passion for soccer.
You don't have to do anything special to play soccer. You just have to know how to
move on the court, have resistance and most people can do it. However, you must buy
seats to enter to play the court. Soccer is an excellent way to enjoy this beautiful sport in
our beautiful country. And you never know, maybe you can also find true love in this
passion for soccer!
