App Description:

Spanish. IXL is most commonly used for Math but English is a close second. They have unique lessons and
(about 130 words)
problems students can use to do their own work, or even register with a class and do homework and review. IXL
has truly grown as an app starting with only Math but have grown to English, Social Studies, Science, and
Spanish and is still expanding. IXL has an immersive experience for students with drag and drop questions and
features like graphing that brings student engagement up high. IXL is proven to help students achieve skills they
are struggling with in school.
3 – 5 Instructional
1. Teachers can start their lesson by having students open up IXL on their Chromebook or iPad. They

help if needed. They then can see what each student scored and either have them repeat that lesson
or start the next one. For example if 75% of the class scored an 80% or higher they get to move on to
the next lesson, while the other 25% can repeat the lesson as many times necessary to learn the skills.

2. Teachers can use IXL to assign homework for students to do at home and assign it via Google
Classroom. They then can either go through IXL to see the scores or have the student submit a

screenshot of the completed assignment with their smart score(grade) in it. Students will have
multiple opportunities to get whatever score they want at home.

3. Teachers can use IXL as test review for an upcoming test. They can assign it to students to do either
in class or at home. This is a good test review method as they have the opportunity to do it both in
class and at home for more review compared to a paper print out as the IXL questions change each
time. It lets the students get use to the problems but not have them do the constant questions over
and over again.
