Creative Writing Workshop

In pairs, individually share your writing with your peer. Everyone should send their work to their
partner so they have access to it to read along. Once you have read your story out loud, your
partner should complete this document to give you feedback.

Who were the characters and what were their roles? Where does this story take place?

What is the theme of the story? How were you able to understand this theme? Pick out specific
places that express the theme.

Did you notice cause/effect and conflict in this story? If yes, what were they? If no, what are
some suggestions you have for your peer?
What was your favorite example of figurative language in your group members’ writing? Pick a
specific quote and tell why it was your favorite.

Was there anything missing from the requirements set in place for this assignment? If yes, what
were they and how would you suggest they are incorporated?

What should your peer focus on when revising their story?
