Activity 1

Our solar system and our earth and our bodies all evolved recently (in galactic time). They could not
have formed until many previous stars had lived, evolved, and died. We are made of “stuff” produced by
stars.

Activity 1b NATURAL OR SYNTHETIC?

Elements Natural/Synthetic
Fermium Synthetic
Chromium Natural
Helium Natural
Curium Synthetic
Cadmium Natural

The difference between the two elements is that Natural Elements can be found naturally just like the
name natural elements itself, it can be found naturally occurring in the universe, while Synthetic
Elements have to be synthesize or basically made by humans

Synthetic elements are elements that have been created in a laboratory by artificial means.

Synthetic elements are very unstable and have few commercial purposes.

Synthetic elements have several applications depending on their identity and they can be used in
different applications such as fuel, technology

I learned that how get the electronegativity difference of elements

I enjoyed most on drawing a lewis structure of formula

I want to learn more on if the formula is polar or nonpolar

An increase in temperature typically increases the rate of reaction.

If the surface area of a reactant is increased: more particles are exposed to the other
reactant.

If you increase the concentration of a reactant, there will be more of

the chemical present.
