Differentiation Materials:
These are supplementary materials not specifically outlined within the lesson plan, but can be
made available to students approaching the target who want more material, students on-level
who want material to maintain their performance, and students beyond the student who want
to continue reinforcing ideas of the lesson.

parties to work together and support

Russian Revolution:
Vocabulary

Autocracy One man rule. A head of state who has


absolute power of government and
often claims a divine right to rule.
Hemophilia A hereditary medical condition that
prevents blood clotting that ran in the
bloodline of many European royal
families.
Rasputin Russian mystic and holy man that
proclaimed to have the holy power to
heal Tsarevich Alexei of his hemophilia.
He was actually able to lessen the
symptoms of Alexei’s hemophilia which
raised him to be one of the most
important spiritual and political
advisors to the Russian Royal Family.
The Last Russian Royal Family Czar Nicholas II, his wife Czarina
Alexandra, and their children Olga,
Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia, and heir

Primary Source A source that was made in the time
period. Includes photos, newspapers,

Secondary Source Analysis or commentary based on

articles, etc.

Petersburg and Leningrad. It was the
capital of the Imperial Russian Empire,
the home of the royal family, and one

the site of the European mainland
