1. INTRODUCTION:

. Working Capital Management:

Working capital is the lifeblood of every business. Its effective provision ensures success
and inefficient provision reduces the profit and results in downfall of the company.
Mismanagement of business failure. A study of working capital is of major importance to
internal and external analysis because of its close relationship with day-do-day operations of
a business.
Ratio Analysis:
Ratio analysis is a powerful tool of financial analysis. In such an analysis the ratios are used
as yardstick for evaluating the financial condition and performance of the firm. Analysis and
interpretation of various accounting ratios give a skilled and experienced analyst a better
understanding of the financial condition and performance of the firm than what he could have
obtained only through a perusal of financial statements.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

To study the working capital management and to analyze and evaluate the financial position

KSCARDB Ltd. with special reference to Working Capital Management and Ratio Analysis.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

The main objectives of the study are as follows:

 To use working capital management and ratio analysis as a tool to identify the

liquidity, profitability and management efficiency of the company.

 To study the financial position and help in financial control and planning resources.

 To make suggestions out of the findings of the study.

RESEARCH DESIGN

Research design is a basic plan which guides the researcher in the collection and analysis
of data required for practicing the research. The fundamental base for the success of a
project depends on its effective research design.
The requisite data for the study is collection from the secondary sources of information.
The Secondary data will be obtained from the financial statements of the company in the
form of the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss accounts.
The analysis and interpretation will be thus derived with the help of secondary data
available.

SCOPE OF THE STUDY 

 To study the short term solvency of the firm


 To study the liquidity position of the firm.
 To identify the operating efficiency of the firm- turnover of the ratios.

SOURCES OF DATA

After identifying and defining the research problem and determining specific information

required to solve the problem the research will look for the type and sources of data which

may be yield the desired results, while deciding about the method of data collection to be

used for the study.

Secondary Data:

Secondary data means data that are already available that is they refer to the data which

have been collected and analyzed by someone and can save the time of the researcher.

Secondary data may be available in the form of company records, trade publications,

libraries etc. The secondary data sources are:

a. Company reports.

b. Brochures

c. Internet (various web sites)


OPERATIONAL ANALYSIS TOOLS

Data will be analyze with the help of various liquidity ratio like-

1) Gross working capital

2) Net working capital

3) Current ratio

4) Quick ratio

5) Absolute liquidity ratio or cash position ratio

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

 The study does not consider the impact of non-financial items on financial
performance.

 It is a general study of financial aspects and analysis.

 This being an academic study suffers from time and cost constraint.
