Background
The Government has ratified the Paris Agreement through Law No. 16 of
2016 on the Ratification of the Paris Agreement on the United Nations
Framework Convention on Climate Change:
Government obligations in contributing to nationally defined greenhouse
gas emission reductions to limit global average temperature increases
below 2°C to 1.5°C from preindustrialization temperature levels

• Contribution (NDC) to the Paris Agreement, Indonesia has targeted a 29 percent

reduction in greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions with independent efforts, and an
increase in the target to 41 percent with financial and technological support from
developed countries.
• Recently, as part of its Long-Term Strategy for Low Carbon and Climate Resilience
(LTS-LCCR) 2050, Indonesia has also set a goal to achieve net-sink in Forestry and
Other Land Use (FoLU) by 2030
Net-Sink FOLU 2030
• KLHK has developed a variety of modalities or support systems
• Carbon pricing policy as an incentive for various stakeholders to participate in
climate change mitigation actions
• strategies and roadmaps for climate change mitigation and adaptation,
Greenhouse Gas Inventory System (GHG), National Registry System (SRN),
Vulnerability Index Data Information System (SIDIK), Kampung Iklim Program
(Proklim) and others.
• This support system continues to grow and move according to needs because
the challenges and strategies ahead require support.

Enhancing effectiveness achieving
Net Sink FOLU 2030

• Increased land productivity and value-added of land-based products

become very important in supporting the achievement of FOLU 2030
• Uncertainty is a barrier factor in decision-making process. It should be
acknowledged and taken-into account in the decision making process. We
should communicate uncertainties with practitioners, policy and decision-
makers and provide guidance to deal with it.
• There is a need for the development and provision of tools and methods due to
improvement of understanding and as the dynamics of environment and socio-
economic
• Identifying an appropriate and prioritising land-based activities for
achieving net sink FOLU 2030 – (cost-effective activities)
