At the beginning of the period, 35 million liters of milk were drunk


weekly by Canadians while Canadians drunk only 26 million liters of
Pepsi. The next five years experienced a change in the figures of
consumption of two of these beverages. Particularly, that of milk
consumption decreased significantly by 7 million whereas Canadian
began to drink more Pepsi, its amount composed to nearly 27 million.
At this point, the gap between two data was narrowed down.

The similar trends continued in the period of 15 years later. In 2000,


while the amount of milk consumption fell gradually to nearly 26
million, the amount of Pepsi consumption had a rise to over 27 million.
The next five years witnessed a rapid increase in Pepsi consumption,
its amount comprised of nearly 30 million. Besides, there was a
continuous decline in milk consumption, the figure for which
accounted for under 26 million. In the final five years, a significant
increase made Pepsi become the first choice of Canadians with the
figure of consumption at over 37 million. At the same time, the intake
of milk lost its interest noticeably and its amount was approximately
26 million.
