UNIT X 宿題 (Correction Sheet)

Fazlur Rahman Denis – 2021RJ126

My Answer :
A while ago, when I took a taxi in Aoyama, there was some kind of incomprehensible folk music
playing from a small speaker (not a car stereo) attached to the car. I feel that it was very strange.

The driver was in his mid-thirties, about the same age as me or a little older. When I asked, "Where
is this music come from?", He said, "Please guess." Although it didn't sound like I would get free cab
fare if I guessed right, it sounded interesting, so I said "Afghanistan?" without guessing.

"Nice try. It's Iran. It's right next door (of Afghanistan). It's a shame, but there's no way I can tell the
difference between Iranian and Afghan music. When I try to talk with him, He seems to be a fan of
ethnic music, and he usually drove around with music from various countries playing in his car.

"There's no other music to listen to. Jazz and rock music are all too commercialized, and they don't
have any sense of life in them." It's quite severe.

"But the passenger I met yesterday gave me the correct name of music from the XX region of
Sudan." Even I was surprised.

There are some amazing people in this world. I heard that in Japan, they only play Okinawan music
and sutras. "But aren't there people who don't like it when you play sutras?" "Yes, there are. About
half of them get off. Especially businessmen who are entertaining people will definitely get off."

Listening to these stories, I feel that Tokyo has become quite wild. One more step and it's the world
of "Taxi Driver".

Correction :
This happened a little while ago, but when I got into a taxi in Aoyama, there was bizarre
ethnic-sounding music flowing from a speaker (not a car stereo) installed in the car. It was
an extremely strange feeling. The driver was in his mid-thirties, and appeared to be either
the same age as myself or slightly older.
When I asked, “where is this music from?” he said, “try and guess.”It did not seem like the
taxi fare would become free if I guessed it right, but it seemed interesting, I tried and
randomly guessed, “Afghanistan.”
“Close! It’s Iranian. They are right next-door, though. Even though I almost got it, there is no
way I would know the difference between music from Iran and Afghanistan. When I talked
to him, it appeared that he was a fan of folk music and told me that he almost always listens
to music from various countries while driving his taxi.
“There isn’t any other music you should listen to besides that, right? Even Jazz and Rock are
all commercialized and showy and there is no feeling of life. That was quite harsh.
“But yesterday, I had a passenger who guessed straight away that it was music from the
Sudan XX region. I was surprised.”I would be surprised as well.
There are amazing people in the world. In relation to Japanese music, he said that he only
listened to Okinawan music and sutras.“But are there people who don’t like listening to the
sutras?“Yeah, there are. Around half get off. Especially businessmen entertaining their
guests definitely get off.
When I hear stories like this one, I really feel that Tokyo is becoming much wilder. One more
step and it will be the world of Taxi Driver
