While analyzing the case, I commend Glenda’s passion in her work and her commitment to the
Filipino people. Rather than just obeying her boss, she went to the extra mile and wanted to investigate
ACME mining company even further as per its suspiciousness regarding its environmental impact study.
Allegedly, the said mining company is not following the guidelines and standards mandated by the
government. In the latter, Glenda also claimed that they weren’t given ample time to do a proper
environmental impact study. Additionally, she already endorsed this said problem to her Division Chief
but likewise, she was said to just go and do as she have been told.
Meanwhile, a whistle blower as defined is a person who exposes any kind of information or
activity that is deemed illegal, unethical, or not correct within an organization that is either private or
public. Glenda is suitable for the said definition and will be classified as one if she will go to the senator.
Of course, Glenda sensed such injustice and she was caught amidst. Glenda’s higher ups does
not want to take on her side and I were in her shoes, I will go to Senator Enriquez. While going on to the
senator could most probably make the case a platform for publicity, it is also the best thing to do due to
the reason that Senator Enriquez will take on the case carefully and properly. As a an elected national
official, it would be such a disgrace to tarnish his honor and also at the same time, he took an oath to
always provide progress to his country and to always abide by the law. As well, Glenda’s safety will be
put into the matter. In contrary, exposing this classified information to the media could most probably
blow up the case and make it much worse than it already is. Resulting to a more difficult situation that
might take longer to solve and will also put Glenda’s life at risk.
For all it’s worth, the best move to take into this situation is to tell everything that Glenda knows
to the senator and provide all the evidences that she could gather.
