CHAPTER 3

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Locale of the Study

This study will be conducted at Bislig District Hospital located at Bislig

City National Highway. This study is concerned about the proper disposal of

medical waste.

Research Design

The researcher employed descriptive research in this study. According

to Travers (1979), the principal aims in employing this method are to describe

the nature of a situation as is exist at the time of the study and to explore the

causes of particular phenomena. Furthermore, Creswell (1994) as stated by

Amario (2011) stresses that the descriptive method of research is used to

gather information about the present existing conditions. It is aimed at

obtaining an accurate profile of the people, events or situations.

Respondents of the study

The respondents of this study are the utility personnel.

Research instrument

The instrument will be used to collect data is the checklist. This is use

because it gathers data faster than any other method.


Data Gathering procedure

The Researchers will make use of the following procedure to gather

information.

1. The researchers gather information in the internet related to the topic.

2. The researcher will also dig up previous studies which are related to

the topic.

3. The researchers will ask permission to the head of Bislig District

Hospital in order to conduct an assessment.

4. After the given permission, the researchers cited questions regarding

to the objectives.

5. The researchers construct a checklist for the distribution to the

respondents of the study. The checklist will be checked by the adviser.

If there are possible errors in the construction, it will be subject to

revision.

6. After the given span of time, the researchers are going to evaluate and

tabulate the respondents’ answers to the given checklist.
