impact on others. When studying in the education field, there will always be people who will
question you. They’ll always give remarks about how much money you’ll make and other things.
But what really matters is how many lives you’ll change. How many kids you’ll inspire and
want my students to always feel free to express themselves and feel like they have a safe place to
be themselves. The first person who inspired me to become an educator was my 7th grade choir
teacher. I loved my choir class, I loved to sing and I just loved music in general. Eventually 8th
grade here came along and it was time to choose a high school to go to. Fortunately, my grades
were good enough to apply to magnet schools. I decided to enroll in ECTA where they have an
education program. At the beginning I wasn’t really sure if I wanted to continue education but
eventually I felt much better about it and I just felt it was something I wanted to pursue. At
ECTA I had the opportunity to be a teacher along with my classmates at our scbool’s preschool
junior year. Senior year we were able to have internships and I was able to teach my classroom a
lesson. Unfortunately, COVID 19 hit and we were forced to stop our internships, but it was an
and social/contextual. Constructivism is ‘an approach to learning that holds that people actively
construct or make their own knowledge and that reality is determined by the experiences of the
learner’.(McLoed, 2019) With constructivism students are able to construct their own knowledge.
Students will be able to make an understanding of what they’re learning through a process. Social
and contextual is “learning is a shared process which takes place through observing, working
together and being part of a larger group, which includes colleagues of varying levels of
experience, able to stimulate each other's development.” (Thompson, 2012) One of the most
important educational historical events is Brown vs. Board. It is something that has shaped our
educational system today. There are no longer segregated schools and every race is allowed to
myself am hispanic and it’s very important for hispanic kids to feel welcomed into a classroom.
Especially if those students don’t know english. Of course that will probably change eventually
but for now that’s the case. A strategy that could be used in a classroom about diversity are
lesson plans based on social identity. Students could learn about different traditions, cultures and
other things around the world. Another strategy that could be used in a classroom are open ended
questions. This question has no wrong or right answer and they could also involve more than one
answer. It’s a good way to get the students to be more engaged and understanding.
education classes. Luckily I feel I’ve gained a lot of information about ECE because of my high
school and all my experience. I would like to be part of an internship again since I was not able
