Reflective Essay Three

Firstly, the first essay was something that I had never written before. I had never written

any type of paper like that ever before in any class. What I learned in essay one was how to

incorporate citations properly throughout my essays. Furthermore, it taught me how to correctly

site sources and citations in essay three. What I learned in essay two that I used in essay three

was also using correct format of sources. Adding, in the first two papers I learned how to

correctly use academic tone by not using “I” or “me” in the first two writings. While in the third

I was able to write in the first-person style.

In addition, what I learned in essay one that I didn’t not use in essay three was the

scientific aspect of the paper of essay one. Since essay one was a scientific experiment and essay

three being an argumentative style paper. With that being said in essay two it was talking about

both sides and having positive views of both ideas. It was mainly describing them and not so

much taking a side of one or the other and in essay three I am taking a side and describing my

positive feedback and ideas about said topic.

In essay three I learned how to explain my ideas and points in a way that will help

support and defend the idea of that a gluten free diet is a good option for you and can help your

overall health. Moving forward this will help me in my future course because I can now get my

point across with sources and citations. Furthermore, learning how to correctly defend an idea

with supporting evidence and how to properly source those ideas will be very handy in my future

courses and throughout my career.

I believe that the creation of said argument really helps you get behind your idea in

writing and really helps you focus in on the idea and how you are trying to express it. In

addition, this will help me in the future with other ideas and points I am trying to express. Also,

by using sources to better help get my point across to others in my writing. After receiving the

comments and feedback, my strengths are putting together my ideas and explaining my thoughts

in writing. Often, I tend to sometimes repeat myself in my writings and papers. Adding, I tend to

add too much detail or information that’s not really needed. I also strongly believe that my

writing has improved tremendously since I took English 1301 over six years ago.

I believe the comments will be that I have improved much in my writing and have come a

long way in my writings. I believe that the ideas that I am arguing will be touched on, so I am

hoping for positive and better feedback in essay three. The most challenging aspect of essay

three was making sure I had the best sources to help defend and explain my stance on essay

three. In addition, creating a paper that flows and is not repetitive and making sure all my points

and ideas are fully expressed with the most detail I can.
