The c ass representatives of 20 8 Batch had a conversation with our VP Vibhatsu Yadav and
Assistant VP Vatsa Dwivedi. The sa ient points of the exchange are as fo ows:

. Reopening of the campus: Due to the rise in the Covid cases caused by the second wave, the
VP was uncertain if the campus wi reopen for the 20 8 batch for the coming odd semester.
But The nstitute wi prioritise the 20 8 batch in a the matters re ated to campus reopening
because of the upcoming p acement season. He advised us to hope for the best and prepare
for the worst.
2. Reduction in fees: As per the information provided by the VP, The subject of tuition fees
comes under MHRD and not the nstitute, and as per the court ru ing ast year, the teaching
and non-teaching staff are constant y active in the nstitute, so there can’t be any reduction
in tuition fees. The nstitute, on its end, has struck down fees under other categories.
. A otment of Rooms if the campus reopens: A ocation of hoste rooms depend upon the
guide ines provided by the govt and nstitute has to fo ow those.
. Can vaccinated students be ca ed to the campus? According to the VP, on y after proper
pub ished resu ts have been made accessib e to the pub ic, the nstitute can take further
action re ated to summoning students to the campus. f the efficacy resu ts come out to be
promising, on y then can the nstitute summon the students. He a so commented that the
nstitute is trying its best to ca the students to the campus and quoted how the nstitute
had reca ed the PhD students to the campus for their convocation.
5. Take on cheating during on ine p acements: As per the VP, the nstitute had started on ine
proctoring and had punished those students who had been vio ating the institute norms ast
year. The VP a so pointed out that the nstitute is open to suggestions to make the p acement
process more seam ess.
. More channe s to address student grievances: The VP has suggested making a dedicated
WhatsApp group containing the CRs, VP and AVP to address any issues direct y. On asking
about uti ising video messages ike “ T BHU Broadcast” on YouTube to direct y connect with
the students, the VP rep ied that it was tougher to take initiatives in this on ine session. He
e aborated how the student body had been quick to respond to student grievances when the
sessions happened off ine.
7. Makeup examinations for students suffering from Covid: The VP suggested that the covid+
students mai their case to the convenor of the respective subject, Assistant DOAA and the
VP to give Makeup examinations instead of the present ones.
