REFLECTION
Generally, the function of a lubricant is only as a fluid which is useful for
smoothing the rotation of the components in the engine. In fact, the
function of lubricants is not that simple. In addition to preventing friction
between moving metals, lubricant functions as a coolant by absorbing
heat from engine components and moving it to the available cooling
system continuously through circulation before being accommodated in
the oil sump. Through its slippery nature, lubricants also function to
prevent piston ring jamming as well as function as a baffle or sealer to
prevent compression leaks from the main components of the engine.
Another function is as a machine cleaner in the presence of detergent
additives and dispersants it contains.
The engine coolant is actually a mixture of water and antifreeze located
on the radiator of your vehicle. Engine coolant prevents your engine
from overheating in hot and freezing weather or too cold in extreme cold
weather. This "too" condition is a very dangerous condition for the
engine.
Engine coolant works by mixing water and 1: 1 antifreeze in a car's
cooling system, but this rule is not always standard. Given the varying
weather conditions, this can occur by increasing the boiling point or
reducing the freezing point. This is done to adjust to the weather outside
the car.
