ONE THING THAT IS GOOD FOR ME

I've never been good at making goals or keeping pledges to myself. I never follow
through on my resolution to start hitting the gym day after day, and it generally takes me about
10 days into the fresh year since I start eating sugary foods again. When things in my life are
really difficult, I find myself losing all motivation.

As a result, I'm modifying the way I establish goals for it myself this year. Rather of
dreaming large and getting anxious for not being able to achieve my goals, I'm going to start
modest and making my way up. And now, I'm going to start with a small step.

Day after day, I will be doing one activity that is beneficial to my health. Even if it's
something I wouldn't want to do. Even though it was the last thing on my mind. Instead of
asking myself to modify my entire routine, I'm forcing myself to take one small change each
day. Or maybe it just means finishing a chapter of a book I've been putting off reading before
going to bed. Perhaps it simply entails choosing vegetables over French fries for dinner.
Alternatively, it could mean hitting the gym, composing a poem, checking up on my Language,
and even doing laundry. To be truthful, it doesn't matter how big or tiny anything is, as long as
it benefits me or our life in the same manner. Anything goes.

Perhaps it won't be about severing poisonous relationships or enjoying life to its fullest
every day. It may be as simple as not messaging the fuckboy, not spending an additional hour of
TV, or not spending a fortune about something I don't require. It'll either be getting a bit ahead
at work or completing the duty I despise so much because I know I have to. It'll be getting up in
the morning on some days whenever I'm so sad because I'm not certain I can.

Because life changes don't always have to be dramatic. It isn't necessary for it to happen
all at once. And it isn't necessarily necessary to work for the same aim. Improvement happens
in stages, as you concentrate on all the small aspects of your life where you want to see a
change. And as you progress, you'll ideally notice that this is less of a chore but more of a
routine - because improvement shouldn't really be a job, but rather a way of life.
