4.Drill

Class in the blackboard you will identify the


missing letter of the alphabet. Then you will
write  the missing letter in the blackboard.

After the learners filled out the missing


letters in the bottle caps, they will be able  to
determine their background knowledge
about the topic which is alphabet.

1. Motivation
Class look at the board. I will read 5
vowels and 21 consonants of the
English alphabet. Be ready because
after me you will read the correct letters
of English alphabet with correct
phonemes  or sounds.

2. Presentation

Class, I will give some picture and


let me discuss to you the English Alphabet and
Consonant Blends

English alphabet is composed of five (5)


vowels and 21 consonants. These consonants
and/or vowels when combined can form a word.
Words are composed of multiple letters and
phonemes.
I will give example of Consonant blends (also
called consonant clusters) are groups of two or
three consonants in words that makes a distinct
consonant sound, such as  “bl” or “spl.”
Consonant digraphs include: bl, br, ch, ck, cl,
cr, dr, fl, fr, gh, gl,  gr, ng, ph, pl, pr, qu, sc, sh,
sk, sl, sm, sn, sp, st, sw, th, tr, tw, wh, wr.

the vowel and consonant letters to name picture
as shown..

4. Enrichment Activity

Class, I have here 4 different pictures. I will


divide you into two groups, the Cute Group and
the Awesome Group, each group have two
different pictures and you will identify the correct
initial blended letter for each  picture. Then you
will present your work.

6. Application
Class, I have here a magical box, this box
contains different Consonant blends. This box
will go around and will be pass to your seatmate
based on what I given letter. It will start on the
front for example I said letter ‘H’ you will pass
the box and we will recite the alphabet A to H
and the student that handle the box will draw a
consonant blends and give words on that
consonant blend.

The consonant blends there in the magical box


are (ch,fr,cr,sh,br,fl).

IV. EVALUATION
Fill in the blank with the correct consonant blend. Draw and answer it  on your
notebook.

V. ASSIGNMENT
Direction: Find the letter using the pictures as clues to complete the word.
