L’Oréal’s mission statement

“offering all women and men worldwide the best of cosmetics innovation in terms of quality,
efficacy, and safety.” The statement shows the various customers that L’Oréal targets and the
characteristics that the corporation ensures are met to ensure its products give its clients the best
results. Some of the features of this mission statement include:
1. Improving health
2. Exceeding expectations
L’Oréal is more than cosmetics and related products. The rise of the company to prosperity has
been boosted by its diligence and comprehensive understanding of skin health and beauty. This
explains the reason L’Oréal values science in the design and production of all its products to ensure
that they not only meet the minimum standards but are also of the highest values. In fact, the
selection of quality materials, ingredients, and the use of approved production processes ensure
L’Oréal only deals with the best cosmetic products. While doing this, the organization empowers
different groups of people, including women in its foundation L’Oréal initiative, and other
corporate social responsibilities programs.
Vision Statement
L’Oréal does not have an official statement on its site. However, the practices of this
organization show that it focusses on “driving the cosmetic industry with an inclination on
sustainability.” In this way, L’Oréal ensures that it protects everyone and the environment. The
vision statement can be explained in the following ways:

1. Innovation and research

2. Sustainability
Ever since its establishment in 1919, L’Oréal has always engrossed itself in research and
innovation within the beauty sector. It continues to dominate in this sector with its long
understanding of beauty products even amid changing times. In addition, L’Oréal has
demonstrated its respect for nature and the environment through its sustainable programs that
have re-defined beauty products in the contemporary era.

L'oreal Kids.
What is CSR?
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the commitment of a company to manage the social,
environmental and economic impacts of its operations in a responsible manner and in line with public
expectations.

For L’oreal CSR is:

Businesses' long-term profitability, competitiveness, and sustainability are assured when social,
environmental, and ethical responsibilities are integrated into their governance.
Businesses are an important element of society, and they play an important and active role in maintaining
and improving healthy ecosystems, supporting social inclusion and equity, and upholding the
fundamentals of ethical standards and good governance.
L'Oréal has been a firm dedicated to consumer safety, environmental protection, and staff well-being
since its inception. As a market leader, we have an obligation to go above and above, ensuring that all of
our stakeholders benefit from our success and, as a result, making the world a more beautiful place.

Issues related to L’Oréal:

1. L'Oréal cosmetics have seven chemicals linked to cancer, including benzophenone-1, titanium
dioxide, and four formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, according to our Campaign for Safe
Cosmetics. The Campaign also discovered four components that could have been tainted with the
cancer-causing chemicals PFOA, acrylamide, and asbestiform fibres.
2. Shampoos, nail polishes, eye liners, mascaras, eye shadows, facial toners, BB cream, anti-aging
treatments, blushes, and powders were found to contain these chemicals, according to the
Campaign.
3. The chemical Quarternium-15 is listed on the label of Maybelline Great Lash mascara, one of
L'Oréal's most iconic products, which is easily identifiable by its pink and green packaging. The
toxic formaldehyde released by Quaternium-15 is utilised to preserve the mascara.
4. Another formaldehyde-releasing ingredient, DMDM hydration, was found in L'Oréal's Kids 2-in-1
shampoo. Johnson & Johnson, for example, has removed formaldehyde releasing ingredients from
their children's products.

CSR Activities of L’Oréal:

Ending hunger, poverty, and malnutrition, boosting health care, especially preventative health care and
sanitation, and ensuring safe drinking water are all priorities.
 Promoting education, including special education and employment-enhancing vocation skills,
particularly among children, women, the elderly, and the differently abled, as well as livelihood
improvement projects.
 Gender equality, women's empowerment, and the establishment of homes and hostels for women
and orphans; the establishment of old age homes, day care centers, and other senior citizen services;
and steps to reduce inequities experienced by socially and economically disadvantaged groups.
 Ensure environmental sustainability, ecological balance, plant and wildlife protection, animal care,
agroforestry, conservation of natural resources, and the quality of soil, air and water.
 Preservation of national history, art, and culture, including the repair of historical buildings and
locations, as well as works of art; establishment of public libraries; and promotion and development
of traditional arts and handicrafts.
 Benefits for veterans of the armed forces, war widows, and their dependents.
 Contribution to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund or any other fund established by the
Central Government for socio-economic development, relief, and welfare of the Scheduled Castes,
Scheduled Tribes, other underprivileged groups, minorities, and women.
 Donations or cash given to technology incubators within academic institutions that have been
approved by the federal government.
 Projects that promote rural development
 Any additional project or activity that the government may add to Annex VII of the Companies Law
2013 or approve it through clarifications or circulars from time to time.

 Any ancillary or incidental actions necessary to complete any of the aforementioned projects,
subject to the CSR Committee's prior permission.

Conclusion

L'Oréal has built its name on its ability to produce high-quality, effective, and safe products to consumers,
selling thousands of cosmetic products every day. We expect that, in the absence of proper FDA safety
recommendations, you would operate in accordance with your company's reputation and go above and
beyond regulatory compliance, achieving the greatest level of safety set by other companies and the
international community. We believe that by doing so, you will safeguard public health, minimize
pollution in our environment, and maintain your market leadership position.
The easiest approach for L'Oréal to show that company cares about women's health is to cease using
cancer-causing chemicals in its cosmetics!
