Philosophy Statement

December 1, 2021

I believe that each student is an individual; as an educator, I will help each child grow by

providing the best possible environment for them to thrive. Each child is unique and will have

different levels of learning before joining my classroom. My responsibility is to nurture each

child's knowledge, interests, beliefs, abilities, and special skills and continue to scaffold them. I

will learn and facilitate each students' learning styles and provide an exciting and robust

learning environment that fits their overall needs. I passionately believe that positive

communication and relationships between myself, my students, and their families help foster a

productive, positive, and all-inclusive classroom. Through communication, I will further

understand each student and build a more inclusive and personalized instruction for all

students.

I know that each student will come from their own story and background. No two

students will ever be the same. I will use this knowledge to create a warm atmosphere full of

diversity and instruction, helping other students understand the importance of being unique

and different. Being different and having one's personal experiences should be seen as a tool. I

will assess my student's success and behavior on a one-to-one level and work with each child to

reach the same goal. Each student will have the same set of standards to attain, and I will

expect the same level of comprehension for every student. However, I believe in allowing
students to use the method that works best for them. I will continuously assess and change my

learning style and lessons to work with the students I have.

I chose to become an educator because every child given an exemplary educator can do

great things. I feel schools, unfortunately, lack teachers with real passion and genuine belief in

our children. I want to help fix that. I have experienced many teachers who displayed positive

and negative reasons why I want to be a teacher. I hope to be just like some educators I have

had, others I hope I don't resemble at all. I believe all students deserve teachers who care

about them and give them positive learning experiences. My love for children and my general

belief that children are the future of our world will help guide me through my teaching career. I

want to help create an army of kind, well-informed individuals; armed with knowledge and the

ability to use critical thinking in real-life situations. I know the school system is complex and full

of its own downfalls, but that shouldn't matter if a teacher is genuinely passionate about the

students. I will be that passionate teacher.

I have received my associate degree in Early Childhood Education. However, I am

switching gears to focus on an older age group and now pursuing my bachelor's degree in

Elementary Education. I plan to complete this degree within a couple of years, find a job

teaching in the Clark County School District, and teach a second, third, or fourth-grade class. I

am determined to impact the children in my classes positively.
