3rd-grade teacher this year. I would like to start this evening off by telling you how thrilled I am
to have the pleasure of teaching all of you this year. I am looking forward to getting to know
each and every one of you. I will learn each of your learning styles throughout the year and
build the best learning environment possible. I chose to become a teacher because every child
given the right educator can do great things. I know that I am the right person for the job and
I find having a balanced school and home life is crucial. My mission is to provide an
exciting and robust learning environment each day when you walk into the classroom. I ask that
your minds and body be rested and refreshed each day when arriving at school. We can
accomplish a lot throughout our day if our minds and bodies are ready to learn. If we as a class
can achieve all that needs to get done inside the classroom, I, in return, will do my best to
ensure your home time is just that. That means if we can get everything accomplished in class,
no homework. I know how many different home dynamics there can be and want to do my best
to make this year's learning fun and stress-free for all parties involved.
communication and relationships between myself, my students, and their families help foster a
productive, positive, and all-inclusive classroom. Parents, if you have questions or need
anything from me, please reach out to me. If something is going on at home and you feel it's
something that could impact your child in school, please talk to me about it so I can keep that in
mind and have a further understanding of any behavioral or emotional changes. I want to be
able to make accommodations as needed and work together with you to help ensure your child
has every opportunity possible to succeed. I understand that life happens and promise to work
with you. Please encourage your child to speak up and ask questions if needed. I will talk to
each child in one-on-one settings weekly to try to get an honest assessment of their
understanding throughout the week. For this to work, I need my students not to be shy when
talking about things they might not understand completely. I genuinely believe that when my
students struggle, it is because they don’t understand it YET, not that they can’t or won’t ever
understand it. My job is to help them get there. I will help all of you get there.
Part of the way I communicate between the classroom and home will be seen through
the communication books that go back and forth from school to home. These books will contain
information pertaining to both the school and my classroom. I will send weekly updates
containing what we will be focusing on in class for the week; on occasion, it may also include
schoolwork that was not finished in class. The communication folder will also be where I send
home any notes I need signed by the parent or guardian. I'm putting my all in every day; I
expect my students to do the same. Putting in the effort and being an active learning
participant is one of the most important things I can ask of your child. If your child is not
actively participating in class, you will see more unfinished classwork in their communication
folders. If the classwork being sent home is continuously due to your child not utilizing class
As I mentioned earlier, I want your home time to be your family time. I don’t want to
have to send schoolwork home. This is why I stress you all give me 100% while you are in my
class.
I started teaching because I truly believe the children are the future. I believe the
children in this room will make our world a bright and beautiful place. I want my students to
know they have me on their side, and I will be rooting for them each step of the way. This world
needs all types of people, and I want to help them reach the best version of themselves. I will
foster a healthy and safe environment for them to explore and build those versions of
themselves. It is true what they say. It takes a village to raise a child. It will be my greatest
