Assignment definition terms.

1. Food
Any substance taken for the purpose of providing nutritional support to an organism is referred
to as food. Food is made up of vital elements like carbs, lipids, proteins, vitamins, and minerals
and is mainly derived from plants, animals, or fungi. It is eaten by living things to provide energy
and nutrition. Food contains the nutrition that people and animals need to be healthy. The
consumption of food is normally enjoyable to humans. It contains protein, fat, carbohydrates,
vitamins, water and minerals.

2. Nutrition
The biochemical and physiological process by which an organism uses food to sustain its life is
known as nutrition. Ingestion, absorption, assimilation, biosynthesis, catabolism, and elimination
are all part of the process. Nutrition is about eating a healthy and balanced diet. Food and drink
provide the energy and nutrients you need to be healthy.

3. Nutrition science
Nutritional science is the study of the physiological process of nutrition, including the
interpretation of nutrients and other elements found in food in connection to an organism's
maintenance, development, reproduction, health, and disease.

4. Dietetics
The branch of knowledge concerned with the diet and its effects on health, especially with the
practical application of a scientific understanding of nutrition. Dietetics is a science that studies
how food and eating habits affect our general health. While this discipline has a heavy emphasis
on public health, its primary goal is to educate everyone about the necessity of eating properly
and wisely.

5. Diet
Diet refers to the total amount of food consumed by a person or other organism. Diet frequently
connotes the usage of a specified nutritional intake for health or weight loss. Despite the fact that
humans are omnivores, each culture and individual has certain culinary preferences or taboos.
Special course of food to which one restricts oneself, either to lose weight or for medical reasons.

Nutritional status is a necessity of a person's health as determined by food, nutrient levels in the
body, and good metabolic integrity. Balanced food consumption and proper nutrient use are the
keys to maintaining a healthy nutritional status

amount of nutrients. It means "poor nutrition" and can refer to: undernutrition, not getting
enough nutrients. over-nutrition, getting more nutrients than needed. Malnutrition refers to
getting too little or too much of certain nutrients. It can lead to serious health issues, including
stunted growth, eye problems, diabetes and heart disease. Malnutrition affects billions of people
worldwide.
